This was written after a wonderful night out with close friends, and the journey home.
What a great night, in London we met up with friends,
The show was a special one, you might wish never ends,
The timing was marvellous, the music's beat was ace
And how did the dancers keep up that terrific pace?
Then we're out on the steps, shame it's now time to go
And we walk away with an after performance glow.

On the platform I stare at the posters for 'Big Fish',
I wonder is that some strange, exotic, culinary dish?
But no it's a film, reviewed as an 'Oscar contender'.
The tube slides in, swallows us, keeps to it's agenda.
We stand; like wisps of smoke, trails of conversation
waft to our ears, we leave before the final revelation.

Then up through hoarding alley, the escalator ride,
A busker, two Australians, drunk, but happy inside
the lift, he sings, I say that he should be on the stage,
Add, coach in USA, to laughs, he smiles as our eyes engage.
Then we're on the home train, I notice a young man's socks,
Beige with flowers, I nudge, my man, smiles, gently mocks
me with raised brows, for he knows I'll include it in a verse,
For I have this gift, or I'm afflicted with a curse!
