failed attempt of love

He looked at her as a tear crept out of his eye,
He never got to know her, and wondered why.
Why he never spoke to her when he had the chance,
And always looked away when she gave him a glance.

He always thought deep down inside that she liked him,
But now the chance of them together is too slim.
She is going out with that stupid tough guy,
Who always seams to be making her cry.

He found her diary one day on the floor,
And went to the toilet and locked the door.
Inside he read all the terrible secrets she kept inside,
And all the many feelings for him she had to hide.

He read on and on until his eyes filled up with tears,
When suddenly his heart filled with a great fear.
Her perfect boyfriend was not so perfect after all.
He’d get drunk and beat her from wall to wall.

Now he had to help her and couldn’t let this go on,
He got hold of her number and rang her on her phone.
But her boyfriend picked up and was annoyed that a boy had called his girl,
Of course he was drunk and thought someone wanted to destroy his world.

In a drunken rage he found out who the caller was,
And now she stares at this great loss.
The boy she never got to know but wish she did,
She always liked him but her ex was such a pig.

She dropped a graceful rose onto his grave,
And stared at the coffin of the boy she couldn’t save
