Love of life dies
He used to love me,
He used to care,
He used to buy me things,
He used to embrace me,
He used to do a lot of things.
He’d in no way harm me,
Never even imagine it.
Why’d he leave me?
We were in love,
We did care for each other,
We are no more.
He promised he’d never go away,
But that promise he did not keep.
I wonder how it happened,
I wonder if he hurt?
He left me,
I wonder why.
Why wasn’t he stronger?
Why didn’t he fight?
Did he see it coming?
Did he know he was to die?
What did he think,
In those last moments?
Was it I on his mind?
I miss him so much,
I don’t know how to go on.
Why did he leave me like that?
I can’t help but ask.
I miss him already.
It happened just two seconds ago.
I see him bleeding before me.
I see him twisted in the wreckage.
I wonder what he thought,
The last second of his life.
The ambulance takes him away,
As I sit and cry.
Clutched in his hand,
The ring that took him his life savings to buy.
They handed it to me,
As they take him away.
I sit and wonder,
Why he wanted me in his life.
I miss him so much,
As I slip the ring on my finger,
Tears drop from my cheeks.
They keep asking me what happened.
What did I see?
All I can say is that,
He loved me,
He left me,
He died,
Right in front of my house,
Car comes flying down the road.
I stand at the door and watch,
As the car crashed into him,
I let them know.
Tears drop down my face,
I don’t know what to do.
I watched in horror,
As the one I loved was taken away.
The other guy is fine,
Of course,
He’s taken to jail,
But my love
Will never have a second chance.
Good bye my love,
I’ll make sure your death is recognized.
