many kinds of artists, many kinds of pictures
chirps fly wild across
the metal jungle playground

angry, raging squawks
melodious songs sharing

childhood possessions
everything she or he owns

it’s spring, green explodes
from every branch and lawn

azaleas dazzle
along the gray chainlink fence

the artist lays down
her saturated paintbrush
some pictures don’t need paper
