An experiment in the Cinquiano form - thank you to Bianca for explaining poetry forms.
Sleepless in Ohio

Can’t sleep

I am waiting for sleep to come

But it is elusive

It escapes me

Tonight

Worries
They come like demons in the night
Robbing and tormenting.
Who asked Them here?
Not me.

My mind
Fruitlessly rehashing the day
Reliving each moment.
The sleep I seek
Is gone.

I pray.
My Father who art in heaven,
Comforting, familiar,
Sweet, peaceful words.
I sleep.
