A barely noticeable change arrives.
Something passes over me.
It's transient, like a collage of dreams.
I'm not sure how it came to be,
for it is not what it seems.

It's transient, like a collage of dreams,
love and hate colliding.
It is not what it seems:
benevolent and inviting.

Love and hate colliding
is the definition of the world today.
Benevolent and inviting,
but not in a pleasant way.

Is the definition of the world today
something that can be changed?
Not in a pleasant way,
as only certain things can be exchanged.

Something that can be changed
is the very transience of my soul.
As only certain things can be exchanged,
I realize that only I have control.

The very transience of my soul
must be corrected or subjected to wear.
I realize that only I have control.
This new task is something only I can bear.

It must be corrected or subjected to wear,
for it is not what it seems.
This new task is something only I can bear
as something passes over me.
