My fairyland
Under the cover of verdant reeds, I was on my way to my own “fairyland.” Pushing aside reeds, I jumped into a path that was paved with macadam. As usual, I took a walk with my dog, “blackie.” I kept going with my dog. I could hear the sound of running water that made there lively. I could hear the birds were singing with vivid voice. Even cicadas wanted to show their unique voice. Going through green grass, blackie just looked like musical notes jumping up and down happily. It seemed that all of them wanted to hold a concert before sunset.

After hearing a concert of nature, what caught my eyes was vast rice fields which in front of me. I leaned my back on a big tree. Blackie sat nearby me. Both of us sat peacefully looking at the tranquil of view. Some egrets spread the wings, getting ready to fly high into the sky. Some were using their beaks to clean wings or find food elegantly. Like dancers wearing pure white gauze, dancing graceful at the stage.

The soft breeze stirred the rice spikes, cooling my cheeks and ruffling my hair. We found that we were not alone. Originally, there was another guy who was busy expelling sparrows from its fields, standing on the rice fields. He was a scarecrow who took responsibility for taking care of rice fields. He was too busy to say hi to us. Then we stood up and kept going. Between field and field, there was a ridge that we can walk. Both sides, there had so many bamboos that growing densely. I didn’t know if there was somebody who wanted to add a landscape with quiet and beautiful view on purpose or Mother Nature wanted to play a trick on there. Passing by bamboos, following closely was a narrow channel dug at the edge of a field. It is flowing with clear and melodious sound, like piano music that played contiguously. My soul and mind were cleansed by nature. I fell in love with the place that I had even been, my fairyland that I share with blackie. With the setting sun was disappeared from the horizon. We were getting ready to go home.

Two years ago, in winter, blackie was died of an illness. My dad buried him into “our” fairyland. The place that we liked most. The memories that we built together there. That day, trees withered with yellow leaves. The wind was cold with light rain. The sky was gray. I was sad with broken heart. It seemed all things were mourning for the death for blackie. I realized how fragile life was. I knew that blackie was not lonely. He just went to the real fairyland for having fun with many friends. Constantly, I still walk to there unconsciously for missing my best friend, blackie. My fairylands, place that can let me think about things deeply; places that full of joys of lives. Once again, I enjoy the invitation from fairies of earth. I know I am not lonely. My fairyland.

The way to go
It is located at the Pader city that I live in Taiwan. My fairyland is near my home. It’s a path without name. It takes about 5 minutes to go there by foot. Across the road, you will see a long secluded and quiet path that seems to say hi to you. With relaxed steps, paying much attention to surroundings, you will see fairies of nature have already said hello to anyone of us. The wind is swaying with open arms. The trees are clapping by shaking leaves. You will see how lovely there is. It will open for people who cherish the treasure that Mother Nature gave us. Why not take a trip to my fairyland with happy mood?
