Just a poem about a day I had with a little extra add.
Just a Normal Day

Emptying the dishwasher, I hurried to and fro,
Moving too quickly, I stub my big toe.
The glass in my hand tumbles to the floor,
And just then a knock at the door.

I scurry past the glass that lies in a heap,
As I make my way to the door to take a peek.
There was no one there; it was all very strange
And even somewhat a pain.

I hear my child say “Oh, no.”, then a crash and a scream
Please tell me this day is a dream.
I rush down the hall, tripping over a ball,
Crash to the ground and smack into the wall.
Looking up, I saw my child’s face filled with laughter,
As if I told her a story that ended happily ever after.

Back to the kitchen I fly with a flash,
Now is the time to take out the trash.
Upon entering the kitchen I grab the trashcan,
And in the door walks my man.
“What’s for dinner.” He says with a grin of a kid.
I rush to the stove and pull off the pot lid,
I shake my head in complete remorse,
“Why burnt stew, of course.”

Down the stair, to the laundry I flew
To take out the whites, but alas they were all blue.
Who would guess,
One shirt could cause such a mess.

Up the stairs, back to the kitchen,
Hoping no one hears me quietly bitchin'.
Grabbing the blackened pot of stew,
I decide to make a different kind of brew.
Throwing the stew in the whites that were now blue.
I thought to myself “It will all come out in the wash.”
