She gives her burdens to the Lord. She also remembers her blessings. |
I spend so much time with my physical therapists, that they have become my friends. Shelly was stressed over having a sick child at home and that she wasn't able to be with him. She asked me to pray for her and for her sick child. Of course I did. I also reminded her how blessed she was that her spouse was ready, willing and able to stay at home when their son was sick. Shelly smiled, and said, "You're so good at reminding me of my blessings. I really need to be more thankful." Shelly’s Prayer By Marilyn Mackenzie As I awake and start my day I realize I’m so blessed. I have my God to lean on when I am so sorely stressed. I thank you, God in Heav’n above For blessings one and all. I thank you most for giving love To me each time I fall. I know I’m blessed to have your ear; You listen when I pray. My joy, my pain, I know you hear No matter what I say. The words sometimes don’t come out right, Your Holy Spirit knows. You know my heart, you know my plight. Through you my spirit grows. My blessings are so bountiful I count them all, and then, Your increases make my cup full, I count my joys again. Thank you, Lord, I know you’ve given To me a spouse so grand; Love grows, and beating hearts quicken, Even as we hold hands. We know we’re blessed to have the son You’ve given us to love. May we share times of family fun, And teach him of your love. There are some who say the woman Should be the "glue" at home. But I rejoice that I have known That job is yours alone. I’ve placed my burdens at your feet May I now leave them there. Victory, Lord, and not defeat, Is mine because you care. My load is lightened now, oh Lord I realize I’m so blessed. Now I can share my love and yours, With patients who are stressed. |
