Her fiction has appeared in Austin Layman's Crimestalker Casebook, Coloring Book (anthology, Rattlecat Press), Wordsmith (anthology, Tampa Writers Alliance), and placed in the TWA (Tampa Writers Alliance) Writing Contest; poems have appeared in Rattle, Poetica, Everyday Blessings, Pacific Review, The Penwood Review, PopPoets, forthcoming in Poetry Motel. She has an MFA. in Creative Writing, earned a JD from the University of Miami (FL) School of Law, received a BA (cum laude) from Howard University (School of Communications), participated in the UCLA Extension Writers' Program, and an Algonkian Authors Novel Workshop. She is a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sarasota Fiction Writers. She is a cellist in the Sarasota Pops Orchestra, a violinist and pianist. She has been a court appointed advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned children, a former prosecutor, and a recipient of the (Miami) Dade County Bar Association Pro Bono Award for Service; Miss Lewis is currently polishing a literary novel while an ephemeral muse guards the manuscript.
