According to the pattern, there was heaven and earth
God spoke into existence the beginning of this birth
He created everything, and divided the day from the night
According to His pattern, He brought forth two great lights
The stars were put in their place, giving honor to God’s face
Whales came forth from the deepest seas, when God said, " Let it be. "
All the earth brought forth its seed, yielding grass, herbs and trees
Birds sang and flew in the sky that day, with praises to God for what He had made
According to His pattern, God saw it was good,
and everything multiplied, as it should
Cattle and creeping things, beasts of the earth, all came forth from this birth
Therefore God said, “Let us make man, after our likeness”...and thus he began
He formed this being from the dust of the ground, while all His angels gathered round
And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
then put him to sleep to make him a wife
From the smallest animal, to the fowls of the air…
Every living creature was left in man's care
Knowing in time, man would be related,
God put in his keeping, that which He created
It was very good, every thing God had made; thus He rested from His work on the seventh day.

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me:
(Ps. 119:73a)
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: (Ps. 139:14a)
