Autumn

Hands that change colors
Reach for the sky,
Swaying back and forth
Against a gentle breeze.

One red, one green, one orange
Battle time and season
To clutch fading arms
And stretch upwards.

Blistering cold breath
Nibbles on their fingertips,
Causing them to wilt.
They fall to the ground.

The earth below
Is no help,
As they fade into brown
And join their brothers in the dirt.
