A poem beginning in loneliness, then rising to the spirit homes and the wisdom of angels |
To a Dear Friend It is hard to let go the loneliness So long I have known it, and so well But your care reaches warm to my heart You've the power to end that dark spell. I cry now because you love me It seems more than I can bear But I shall learn to love as you do And then. . . uplift, ever more. There is more to life than pleasure More to do than to die The struggle brings joy beyond measure The battle goes forward, anigh. So deep the measure of meaning To struggle, to learn, and to know We must do as our true wisdom leads us While our spirits soar the high homes, there to grow. Remember the Long Journey, Dear One Fly to the heavens--try the door! We've traveled this great path forever Yet still the journey beckons, "Grow even more!" A New Life awaits us--look homeward! Before us lie many great tasks We must find the wisdom of angels! It is much, but it's what life doth ask. Together we'll lift this whole Earth To the good and bright place it should be Yes, we will learn the wisdom of angels! We can. We shall. You and me. |
