Web Page Item Documentation

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is the standard for designing Internet web pages. When a document is created on Writing.Com using WritingML, the system translates WritingML into HTML before sending it to the web browser.

This is done to help ensure consistency within items on Writing.Com. There are times, however, when a more creative visual effect will be desired. For such time, having the full range of HTML tools available is important.

The Writing.Com Web Page Item Type allows for the use of both WritingML and HTML. It is the only item type on Writing.Com that permits the use of standard HTML tags.

Creation of Web Page Items is restricted to Premium Members. Each member is limited to 10 web pages. For a list of other features included, please see Compare Free and Paid Membership Benefits Open in new Window..

A Premium Member's public portfolio URL may be automatically re-directed to a Web Page item. This item can be set by visiting the "My Account" area and choosing "Change Your Account Text And Special Items".
