one more day

The sun's first ray
peeks through my window
to begin another day.

God's gift of glorious sunrise
awakens my soul through sleepy eyes.

Outside, droplets of morning dew
hang from fresh-cut grass,
beneath a sky of vibrant hue,

as I give thanks to be alive
and see one more day arrive.
