Please help us change it to a Yay Ground |
192 WORDS // 32 LINES // FOR "The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week" ![]() Dear Mayor, here's what I've found About our local playground. You'll read my note and then agree "not suitable for little children". There's a ditch nearby And I heard a child cry Falling into it, giving his wrist Quite a painful little twist. What's more, those three rocks Are really gigantic blocks On the way to the swings O, Mayor, please change things! The see-saw is just a block of wood Dangerously swaying, that's not good! You'll agree, you're the boss - Not nice if a child takes a toss! There's lots of good stuff in our town But the playground makes us frown. My niece, from another city Looks at my kids with so much pity. "Our playground's safe and clean" she says, "Like yours should have been." Dear Mayor, please do what you must In you I put my trust. All of us will volunteer Money and time, have no fear But you'll have to do your bit to make this playground quite fit For a growing body and mind to safely and joyfully find A place to play, to run, to be A place where the soul is quite free PROMPT ▼ |
