Sometimes something small can be large at the same time.
Prompt: The thing that is bigger than your head that you wish was smaller than your head.
Line Count: 24
Word Count: 139

There rests a weight upon my frame,
A thing too vast to bear or tame.
Larger than my head, it looms,
A shadow stretching past the room.

If it were small, if it could shrink,
Perhaps I’d breathe, perhaps I’d think.
But still, it swells; too wide, too tall,
A thought too great, a name too small.

Regret, a sphere I cannot hold,
Swollen words left unretold.
Or is it doubt, an orb so wide,
That wraps around me, lurks inside?

A heartache grown beyond my sight,
A worry humming through the night.
If only it could fit my palm,
A whisper soft, a touch of calm.

Yet here it sways, yet here it stays,
Too large to bend, too bold to fade.
I wish it small, I wish it light,
It's only three letters that don't fit right.
