Writing My Way Back to God
Psalm 98:4

My guilt has overwhelmed me like a heavy burden.

Psalm 38 speaks very loudly to me. Once again, I see where my past and present sins: pride, anger, hatred, jealousy, envy, gluttony, self-pity, self-righteousness, and sloth rule over me. I am letting Satan rule my life. I am shutting Jesus out and blaming everyone else for my troubles and shutting them out too. Only the love of the Lord and repentance can save me. My life doesn't have to be like this. I am doing nothing to fix it.

One day at a time, one verse at a time, I can again be the person God intended me to be. I can focus on Jesus and by the grace of God let the power of the Holy Spirit guide and guard my emotions and actions and sometimes non-actions.

Father, thank you for seeing and hearing my self-induced pain. Help me come back to you through the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray.
