A short essay I gave myself as an assignment. Tell me what you think about it.
The impact of the Internet and video games on health and social skills.

Social media and video games have played a significant part in our life over the last few years.
During the Covid19 pandemic, the world turned to computers and video games to socialize and live again. There is a significant correlation between AI, video games development and gaming.
While doctors promised death and chaos during, AI and videos games made making us healthier and more social.
All medical studies show that socialization improve language use, mental health and increase longevity. Technology through social media and video games have made possible for people to socialize and live again.
Now post Covid things have gotten better. Technologies such as Virtual Reality and 3D gaming are changing more the way we interact we each other.
Human beings are said to be social animals. That means that we need to connect each other in order to improve our quality of life and survive. We invented or should look at computers not as tool to separate us but rather to help us stay connected in case society face to provide the social support necessary to live and thrive in life.
It is true that social media platforms have their down side: they create social comparison which lead to envy however the benefits of social media outweights its bad consequences.
Older generations would use books as a means of social connecting with someone. While there was great value in that approach we can't deny how more effective techonology has been in bringing out positive social connections.
The only barrier to this social progress is social shaming about "showing your face on the Internet". The people holding that view miss an important point: life happens in public. You shouldn't be afraid of showing your face on the Internet or any other body part.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't be reckless and putting anything on the Internet but simply that the point of social media is to more connected and authentic by showing ourselves, not hide behind closed doors.
Social Media is changing the way we socialize, work and learn. We should embrace this new technology not reject it.
However, social media should be the default solution for feeling lonely and connecting with one. Habits of older generations are still valuable. When we need to relax or want to grow we should learn to get bored with a book or start a long conversation with a client at a store. These are things social media shouldn't replace as a world where we are only connected by computers would be inhumane.
Video games likewise can improve our health when used wisely.
Science shows playing video games improves memory, problem solving and strengthens the pre-frontal cortex which is essential for decision-making. Video Games also improve sociability and goal-setting when they involve controlling multiple characters who work together to reach a common goal.
