My entry for Writer's Cramp 3/14/25
The characters are in a heated discussion and trying to resolve an issue.

A mermaid, a fairy, and a gnome argue about their homes,
where they’ve lived since long ago.

The new neighbors moved in, existing in sin and not of their kin,
causing the originals to want them to go.

The mermaid’s yard was full of trash.

The fairy’s and gnome’s home were in danger of being cut
down for cash.

They argued for solutions, but could not agree on conclusions,
still they insisted on an end to this pollution.

With no end in sight, they adjourned for the night
hoping for a cure to the blight.

The next day they convened, inspired by a common dream,
to vacate till the new neighbors run out of steam.

As the time rolled by, the new neighbors could not spot a
mermaid, a fairy
, or gnome with their eye.

Thinking they won, the neighbors continued as they had begun.

And in time the neighborhood was ruined.

The new neighbors shoot off for the moon.

Then a mermaid, a fairy, and gnome happily moved back home,
Not a moment too soon.
