About Pumdikot

Pumdikot, a major tourist destination, has become a must-visit spot for both domestic and international visitors visiting Pokhara. Located in Ward Number 22 of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Pumdikot attracts visitors primarily for its breathtaking panoramic views. Located at a distance of about 13 kilometers from the main city center of Pokhara, it offers a spectacular view of tranquil lakes, bustling markets, and majestic mountain ranges. From Pumdikot, one can not only admire the site but also enjoy a sweeping view of the entire Pokhara valley.

Historically, Pumdikot has been home to a white stupa, making it a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists and peace lovers. Recently, the installation of a huge Shiva (Mahadev) statue has further added to its charm, attracting hordes of religious tourists.

Tourists climb Pumdikot and get spectacular views of the Himalayas to the north, including Sarangkot, the serene Phewa Lake below, and the picturesque Pokhara region. Both domestic and international tourists make the climb to enjoy the serene beauty, even if only for a short time. From Pumdikot, visitors can see Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, the city of Pokhara, Lekhnath, and other iconic landmarks. The southwestern corner of the Shiva statue complex offers a unique viewpoint to see several Himalayan peaks at once.
