And So, It Goes Melissa didn’t remember even being sleepy, suddenly confused, she opened her eyes. Then, this wasn’t even her bedroom! More annoyed than scared, she looked around at the new place thinking maybe this was a dream? She was in a bed, not her bed. And a funny bed. The covers wrapped around her so tight she couldn’t even stretch out her arms or legs. It was really soft though, and comfortable, it even smelled good. She decided to enjoy it a few more minutes. What time was it? She remembered it was a weekend, no work. No drive in crazy traffic, no Leon telling her she better hurry up with those papers, as if he was ever on time. Was it some getaway with weird rooms? Alice and Jen were always trying to get her to go on weekend jaunts. She’d gone a couple times, but they just wanted to meet new guys, she was mostly bored. TV at home with fresh baked cookies was more her getaway. She had plenty of time to find a mate and start a new life… Yet, for a minute she suddenly wondered. Of course, in the future, but, why not now? She shook it off, this place was much more interesting than the “why am I like this” drama. Suddenly she heard a voice. Shifting quickly, she asked “Where am I?” but instead, she found herself lifted into the air by a giant! Then moments later set back down into the arms of another giant! This giant looked right into her face, and said “I love you!” and suddenly Melissa became Emily. Melissa’s body was found on Monday when she didn’t show up for work. Something about her heart failing. Little did anyone know, it was actually Emily’s heart now. And so, it goes. |
