Marlena's new look turned out to be Hell. 300 words
Hairdresser From Hell

Marlena Able had decided that she wanted a whole new look.

“That new salon in the mall, what’s it called, Neeley’s? That might be one to try.”

When she arrived for her appointment, the owner Kaalisa Neeley greeted her.

“I hope you’re ready for an adventure, Marlena! What did you have in mind?” she said with an ever-so-slight hiss in her voice.

“How about cream with shades of blue to frame my face?” Marlene ventured.

“You got it! But if you agree to let me cover the mirror until I’m done, I’ll do it for free.”

Never one to turn down a bargain, Marlene agreed.

Kaalisa was like a whirlwind, snipping, bleaching and dyeing. Marlene became more and more antsy as the time it took to do it grew longer and longer.

“Voila,” Kaalisa said with triumph as she whipped off the hair cutting apron. Hair rained on the floor.

“I want to see it now, take off the mirror cover,” begged Marlene.

“Just a second. I’ll trim the edges slightly.”

Marlene soon began to smell burnt hair.

“What are you doing to my hair?” she shouted panicking.

“I trim using fire,” was the reply.

“What?” her client shrieked.

“There you go, a finished masterpiece.”

The cover was whipped off the mirror to the sound of a mighty rumble and a strong smell of sulphur.

Marlene stared at the floor as a hole opened in it and a booming voice said:

“His Highness Prince of Darkness is ready for his shave, NOW!”

Kaalisa replied: “Yes, boss!” and vanished down the hole in a puff of smoke.

When Marlene finally got around to looking in the mirror, she began to clutch her head and scream. She sat there rocking herself in the chair while the whole salon disappeared.
