Only The Lonely.
There once was a spiny cactus that grew out in the desert. It had beautiful flowers when it bloomed, yet no-one ever caressed due to its spiny and prickly spines. The workmen rested against an old tree as if was their friend. The woman and the children played amongst the flowers, and the shrubs when out on picnic. Picking the delicate flowers and brushing the grass and shrubs gently with the palms of their hands as they passed by. But no-one ever stroked him tenderly, or picked his beautiful flowers, and this made him a very sad and lonely plant. All alone and miserable in the wilderness. Until late in the afternoon, when the sun was settling over the mountains; red, yellow and blue, and a light breeze came up and stroked his spines gently in the wind, along with a gentle sprinkling of rain on his flesh. ‘Well at least someone loves and admires me.’ He thought as he smiled to himself happily in the harmony and perfection of the desert dusk. Mother Nature tends to all her children’s needs.
