Alternative Scene in the movie "Drive"

Alternative Ending to Bryan Cranston's Death scene with Albert Brooks in "Drive"

Setting: Brooks' character (Bernie Rose) has just slashed Bryan Cranston's character's (Shannon) wrist, consoling him that that's it, it's over, there will be no pain, he would just fall asleep.

Shannon: Reels back realizing what just happened, while Bernie Rose consoles him as he tends to his razor.

Shannon pulls reaches down with his good hand and unzips a compartment in his coveralls while Bernie's distracted. Pulls out a Sig Sauer P320 with a suppressor and shoots Rose three times in the gut.

Rose, shocked, taken aback, instinctively puts his hand to his abdomen, pulling it back to see the blood.

Shannon puts a suppressed round in each of Rose's kneecaps. Rose collapses to the floor, begins reaching for his razor again, and pulls it out of his pocket just in time for Shannon to shoot his hand, puts another round in each of his shoulder joints, and one in his other hand. Then he puts rounds in each elbow joint.

Shannon: "I appreciate you trying to make it painless, Bernie. I really do. I'm sorry I can't offer you the same."

Rose: Shrieks in anger and pain.

Shannon: Applies a tourniquet to his arm using his good hand and his teeth. "Which is your favorite song, Bernie? That will be the last song you hear as you die.

Rose: F*** you.

Shannon: Okay, I'll choose. Turns on the radio, turns up the volume. Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" blares throughout the whole garage.

Shannon: **laughs** "That's almost sadistic. We'll go with it."

Rose: Continues to writhe in pain.

Shannon: Turn over on your back.

Rose: Refuses to respond.

Shannon: You roll over or I do it for you, but I won't be as nice about it.

Rose: rolls over, moaning.

Shannon: Straddles Rose's chest, pinning his arms. Picks up Rose's razor from the floor. "You know, I've always wondered what it would be like to kill someone. I'm going to take my time with this." Holds the razor to Rose's face. "Did you ever watch the Dark Knight? Ledger was so good in that one. WHY SO SERIOUS, BERNIE?" Slashes the sides of Rose's mouth.

Rose: Struggles beneath Shannon as he carves a permanent smile onto his face.

Shannon: "Ah hell, Bernie. This isn't as fun as I'd thought. Now I feel bad." Breakaway continues to sound throughout the garage. "This really is a sick choice for a song. I think you've suffered enough." Holds the suppressor to Rose's head. "Well...let's wait for the chorus to end. It's growing on me."

Song: "Make a wish (make a wish), Take a chance (take a chance), make a change, and break awaaay, break awaaay, break away.."

Sig: Discharges

AN: Pardon the crude format. It's my first submission. And I know this changes the ending of the movie, but so be it. I couldn't let Cranston go out like that.
