“What happened here!” James yelled angrily getting out of his car. His three sons just stood there looking at it too.

The garage door was hanging down with a broken rope on one side. The driveway up to it was strewn with things that used to be in that garage, some in piles, some broken.

“Alex!” he yelled at his oldest, thirteen-year-old Alex, “What happened!”

“I don’t know…” he said, his father knew him well enough to know it was true.

“Joe, Randy, did either of you have anything to do with this?

Joe spoke in a quiet, but also astonished tone, “Nobody knows what happened. We just got home… Honest Dad!” he added, coming out of shock.

Randy piped in, “It was like this when we got off the bus! What happened?”

Suddenly realizing the boys were telling the truth, James got scared for his wife Lena. He turned and ran into the house. There was Lena, sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee and eating potato chips, watching her favorite daily soap opera.

“Are you all right?” he asked quickly, even though she seemed fine.

“The boys will be home soon, how did you get out so early?” she said, without even looking up.

“Ah, Travis let us go early, they were repaving the parking lot… What’s happening here?”

“Nothing, I just didn’t want to miss my story. The kids usually get home around now…” she said still watching the screen.

“I meant to the garage…” he said.

“Oh, I thought we could clean it up over the weekend. I started working on it so I could whip the boys in tomorrow…” still looking at the TV screen.

“And the door?”

“Oops…” she looked up finally… “can you fix that?”

“Absolutely” he said, trying very hard not to laugh.
