This is an allegory of a journey throughout life, and how God always is my strength.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel

I entered the grisly cavern,

Expecting the unknown,

Accepting a difficult challenge,

Often feeling so alone.

I hewed thro' lofty trials,

Thro' Satan's crafty snare,

Thro' crumbling rock and dangers,

God's love made me aware.

Though oft I still wert fallen,

By trying to stand alone,

He still stood to protect me,

And make his presence known.

Though still burdens were carried,

Not given yet to God,

Still, He was my defender,

And steered the steps I trod.

I chiseled my way deeper,

Thro' this seemingly endless cave;

When I could stand no longer,

Strength to my soul He gave.

I full surrendered burdens,

Laid down at His scarred feet,

And felt them lifted off me;

My heart felt peace so sweet.

I began to have composure,

And peace of mind and heart,

Saw light at tunnel's ending,

And hope to ne'er depart.
