A waterline leak is not as easy to fix as Adam thinks!
Adam’s Arc

The water came flooding into the house! Everyone (my wife, Chloe, neighbor Thad, and me) manned buckets to contain the deluge. Did I need to build an Arc?

Whose idea was this?” I asked rhetorically as I watched the gushing water destroy our new carpet and living room furniture.

This was my brainchild.

“I’m sure we can tackle this. How hard can it be to fix a main waterline?” I had proclaimed!

Mistake! Huge mistake!

I’m a computer tech. My wife is an English teacher. Thad works in the deli department at Kroger’s. Well, you get the picture.

“Adam, do something! Call someone!” my wife screamed into my ear.

The cavalry arrived after my panicked phone call to the city!

The Surprise Water Department truck pulled up and our saviors climbed out into the standing water. The flooding stopped as the guy in charge turned off the main waterline, which I had not known enough to do.

“Folks, that’s why professionals are out there,” the head honcho said. “You wouldn’t call a trash collector to remove a brain tumor, would you?”

He climbed back into the truck and drove off into the sunset.

“So now we have to find a plumber, I guess,” I said. “This is going to get pricey.”

“Ya think?” wiseacre Thad said.

“And we have to call Servpro to clean up this mess, Mr. Genius!” my wife said, adding salt to the wound.

I can’t picture either of them on Adam’s Arc. Nope! Not welcome!
