a poem about living and dying on display...
The Pedestal

Put upon a pedestal.
So high in broken skies.
There’s no air to breathe.
She quietly dies.

Whose fault is it any way?
Bold soul to ask it.
We just go where told.
Cold and shiny casket.

Is anybody angry?
Arguing the truth.
Wasn’t hers to give.
Taken in her youth.

Over time they resist us.
Some learn to fight back.
Some learn to play games.
Some learn to attack.

The pedestal gets shattered.
Pieces on the ground.
Nobody knows why.
Died without a sound.

Soon enough it comes alive.
Beckons once again.
Seems kind of funny.
Seating only foolish men.

Already old on arrival.
Now they turn to dust.
Can’t have ego and have it all.
Humility a must.

So, he’ll die like all the rest.
Will anybody notice?
Choked on words that were not true.
Holding up his fist.
