And the changing seasons.

As they rake leaves
They reflect
on the insignificance
Of human beings
In the grand scheme of things.

Politicians come and go
Elections happen,
The TV talking heads
Continue to talk.
The comics continue to joke.
Musicians play on.
Sports games continue.
The stock market goes up
And down.
People meet and fall in love.
People live and die,
Civilizations may fall.

In the meantime,

The autumn leaves fall
The seasons change
Winter comes,
Snow comes again.
Spring returns
Summer heats the land.
Autumn comes again
The leaves change and fall.

And so it goes
In the end
They look at each other
And fall in love again
They spent the day raking leaves.
