Dorianna and Iso find something. 300 words
Supposedly Unmapped

Dorianna Stellar pointed one long finger at the view from the ship’s front window.

“This place isn’t on the map,” she said excitedly.

“Since our mission is to update the stellar maps, let’s park and go down to the surface to investigate,” Captain Iso Littellen said.

After putting the ship in orbit around the mystery planet, the two crew members took a shuttle to the surface. Stellar checked the air quality and recommended breathing devices.

“I’ll go first. When I give you the thumbs up, follow!” Iso ordered.

Dorianna watched him leave the small craft. She followed his figure as it floated away. Suddenly his safety-suited body slammed back against the door. His face was contorted with terror as it hit the window. His thumb was down!

Dorianna tried to open the door and bring the captain in. It wouldn’t open because of his weight on the outside.

“Manual override,” she told herself.

With swift movements, she implemented it.

Iso fell through the door face down. An awful purple and green gelatinous mass was pulsing on his back. By the time Dorianna had steeled herself to turn him onto his side, she saw his face was gone. More terrifying was the fact that it had been replaced by a face that exuded pure evil.

“Kill me, Doriana before I am fully transformed. That’s an order. If you don’t, we are both doomed!” The voice as the captain’s.

“Aye, aye sir.”

Not sure how to do so, the second in command had an idea. Dragging him away from any equipment, she grabbed a large fire extinguisher. She blasted him in the face and back. When it was exhausted, so was she.

“Goodbye sir,” she whispered as he became toxic smoke and was sucked out by the air quality fans.
