My apologies; I've struggled to make this map larger, but it just ain't having it. I guess you can blow up your screen to look it over. Sorry. I'm a writer, not a coder!
I grew up on the hill behind a wonderful little California beach town. As a child in the '50s, it was too far for me to venture alone, but when I went with family, mine or others, it was a wonderland for the senses. As a teen in the '60s, it was well within my range, and I spent many carefree days with friends or on my own, patrolling the streets and exploring the alleys. As a young adult in the '70s, diversions became more serious and sometimes dangerous, and not everyone lived happily ever after, but ultimately, we are all products of the journey we took to get here.
The stories in this series are — for the most part — not about me, but most of these fictional characters are constructs of people I've known, and the closer I was to the events, the closer they are to the personalities involved. At the end of the day, I'm neither trying to lionize anyone, nor take revenge for some imagined slight from sixty years ago. This is more of a tribute and a fond remembrance of those halcyon days we thought would never end... until they did.
Hold on to what you've got and savor every moment, because the only certainty is that things will change.
Now, take my hand and walk with me along the beach a while,
Tell me dreams you've often had, and things that make you smile... Taylor...
