A young girl struggles with a difficult decision.
The Appointment had been made. A date, finally set, brought reality in heavier doses than what she expected.
"It's MY body, MY choice!" Lilly yelled at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Her head was spinning, conflicting voices seemed to speak over one another inside of her head. Was she ready to give up her life? Having her dream career? Her potential happiness that suddenly seemed so far-fetched?
She knew she would be judged. The same girls that walked the halls, leering at her, would undoubtedly have a bunch of snarky comments to make. It no longer mattered what they thought, her mind was made. She knew her parents would never think of her as that innocent little girl again. The facade had crumbled. If anyone, Lilly thought that her mother would have noticed the changes. But, no one noticed her change in wardrobe; The ever more concealing clothes she had been wearing lately. No one had seemed to notice her morning trips to the bathroom at school. It was too late for anyone to notice now, the appointment had been set. Tomorrow, Lilly knew her nerves might get to her again, but this time she knew that when she took her morning trips to the bathroom, the razor would cut deep enough, that she would never wake again.
