A quick ode, or so it is presented, based on the prompt of this National Day of Chocolate. |
Oh, chocolate, dear delight of my soul, In your velvety depths, I find myself whole, A symphony of flavors, bittersweet and grand, Each bite is a melody crafted by nature's hand. From cocoa bean to bar, your journey's divine, A blend of artistry and time is so fine. The alchemy of your making, a secret we all savor, A dance of sweetness and depth, a most cherished flavor. You've graced our tables in countless forms — Truffles, cakes, and even storms Of molten lava in cascading flow, Inviting us to plunge and never say no. Your rich aroma fills the air, A fragrant promise beyond compare. And oh, the way you melt away, On eager tongues, where nothing stays. In quiet moments, you are my muse, These inspiring words that no one could refuse. You comfort, you console, with tender grace, A universal balm, a warm, sweet embrace. On this day of celebration, I honor thee, For more than just indulgence, you have been to me. In laughter, in love, in life's every guise, Chocolate, you are the joy that never dies. To my Writing.com friends, this ode I send, In shared admiration of our decadent friend. Join me in raising a cup, a toast so fine, To chocolate, the muse in many a line. |
