A poem about women
You are not required to dress up
when you’re lying on the couch,
or grabbing groceries in a rush,
or sitting quietly in class.

You don’t owe anyone beauty
when you’re sweating at the gym,
or moving through the day,
just being yourself within.

Pretty is not the rent you pay
for your right to take up space—
your worth isn’t in makeup,
or in clothes, or in your face.

You don’t have to be lovely
to be valid or enough—
you’re more than just appearances,
more than looking “good” or “tough.”

It’s understood, though rarely said:
your value isn’t skin-deep.
You are whole, you are worthy,
whether you’re “pretty” or unseen.

You exist beyond the image,
beyond what others see—
you’re enough as you are,
and that’s all you need to be.
