A brief profile of the Antagonists in the novel
In this novel, there are no real antagonists. The villains the main characters face are really all in their heads. I hope this assignment sheds some light onto this.

Vada's main antagonists:

Name: Gore of the warrior class.
Age: 4009th rising of the blessed sun (2009AD)
Occupation: Defense force cadet (Equivalent to ROTC)
Description: Gore is literally a humanoid Komodo Dragon but with a humanoid head and face.
Issue with Vada: Sees Vada as a danger to himself and others.
Quote: Knowledge is like muscle. If you do not constantly use it, you will lose it.
Followers:
Gash: warrior class. Humanoid resembling a Gila Monster. Black leathery skin with red and orange stripes along his body.
Venom: warrior class. Humanoid resembling a black mamba. Black leathery skin with a human/snake head and face.
Pyra: science class. Female humanoid resembling a python. Green leathery skin, doll like features. Deceptively strong.
All share Gore's concerns for Vada.

The class system: Everyone is in a class (occupation) decided working age based upon their strongest talents upon being tested. Vada believes that one can be of more than one class or move from one class to another based on education.

Diron's main antagonists:

The Fold: All Teranors combined make up the fold. They are a hive-mind of shapeshifters who become individuals when deemed necessary. Diron is seen as an anomaly but not a threat. It sees it better to keep him separate and occupied than risk 'tainting' the whole with his 'overabundance of personality' and individual thinking. Diron sees the Fold as a danger to himself and others.

Humans: Diron only knows the humans through the transmissions they broadcast. He sees humans as unstable, unpredictable and sometimes suicidal.

Princess Kyteen's antagonists:

Herself: Kyteen is in a constant inner struggle between her 'duties' as a princess and a girl who wants to play with others her age. She does not understand why she must be sheltered from the outside.

Humans: Kyteen has always been told that humans are an 'imp' species. Impossible, impatient and impractical. Due to this, she becomes uncertain when meeting humans for the first time.

Era's antagonists:

The unknown: Although very young, Era's life has been full of the unknown. Her mysterious power she barely understands, her fear of becoming hurt or hated.

Humans: Era knows nothing of humans other than they are avoided by other species. She does not understand the reasons but has her fears.

Atrace's antagonists:

Illness: Since witnessing the suffering of a plague that wiped out millions of people from several worlds, Atrace had considered all illnesses to be her mortal enemy. She knows it would be a futile crusade but hopes to make a difference.

Humans: Like the others, Atrace knows little about the humans other than that they are too hostile and divided to be a part of the galactic council
