A poem for my parents
Maybe someday you'll call me your daughter,
With pride in your voice, and eyes shining bright.
Maybe someday you'll tell me I'm beautiful,
That I’ve become a vision in your sight.

Maybe someday you'll smile at my reflection,
Say my makeup is flawless, just like I planned,
My dress flowing soft with every step,
A fine young lady, guided by your hand.

Maybe someday you’ll walk me down the aisle,
Our footsteps echo in a tender grace.
And for a moment, just for a while,
You'll see the woman Ive become, in your embrace.

Maybe someday you’ll celebrate me,
With all the other girls who made you proud.
We'll laugh together, dance in joy and harmony,
And I’ll stand tall, part of the crowd.

Maybe someday you’ll see I belong,
Among the women you hold so dear,
And in that moment, after all this time,
I'll feel like I was always meant for here.
