The innocence of an infant and the sweet reaction of his parents
Raeni held Quinn close to her breast thinking she had never seen anyone as perfect as her newborn baby boy. She thought to herself, I can hear your heartbeat, noticing the gentle thuds as the minutes passed. She hadn't planned on becoming a parent, but now that Quinn was here, she couldn't imagine life without him. In seconds, she had fallen in love.

"Well, John, what do you think?" Raeni asked her husband.

"Looks just like his mother," John said softly. All of a sudden, John felt as if he were a bull in a China shop as Raeni held their son out to him to hold. Quinn, although a big baby at nearly ten pounds, seemed so fragile, so tiny to the hulk of a man that was his father. "I don't want to break him, hon. Maybe you should keep him with you, for now.

"You won't hurt him," said the nurse, who had come into the room to check on the new family. "They are tougher than you think." she laughed.

As John took Quinn, he began to hum a simple lullaby to calm the now fussing infant. Raeni gazed at the two most important men in her life and softly said, "that music, that song, it sounds so sweet. Where did you learn it?"

"It was a song my grandmother sang to me when I was little. It was one of my favorite songs when I was little."

"I think it will be one of Quinn's as he is already calming down. I love you two so much," she whispered.
