A very odd, and coffee obsessed, king holds court.
King Ormolu-Meerschaum Bong
Drank his coffee quite extraordinary strong
His teeth were stained dark brown
And he wore his great crown
Atop hair that was thick, and quite long

Bong sat on his clockwork wound throne
That’s spring was inclined loud to moan
As it brewed fine ground coffee
Pitch black, as you can clearly see
And sweetened so much you would groan

There’s a tale ‘bout this monarch named Bong
Why his hair is unkempt and too long
He’d got in a fearsome fight
With a barber one terrible night
Over who won a game of mah-jong

The king had a marvellous tree
Where birds sang from breakfast till tea
It’s leaves were pure beaten gold
And the trunk, or so I am told
Was clad in fine filigree

Bong holds court ‘neath the spread of its leaves
To a collection of scoundrels and thieves
They play card games all the day
Which all end the same way
For he hides every ace in his sleeves.
