The interactions between a child and her grandmother.
"Dut, dut, dut, dut, do, do, do, do, dut, dut, dut, do, do," came the sweet sound of the precocious five-year-old. "Welcome, one and welcome all," she shouts to those who care to listen.

I was oblivious to the beginning of her outburst. So many times, I have heard her version of the hit theme song from the "Amazing Digital Circus" as it now droned on into the background every time, she sung it to me that I did not realize she was actually talking to me too. Oh, to be a child again, I thought, as I continued reading my textbook.

I'm Heidi and I've spent the last forty years working on higher education. I am working on the long-range goal earning my first bachelor's degree, but I think it might be easier to just stay home at this point in my life. I needed to focus a little more right now on this task and then I planned to play with Genni. If only she would let me finish my studies for the day, but she doesn't understand. I'm her world right now and I'm not stopping mine to be in hers. Soon, I think.

"Abuela! Abuela! Abuela! You're not listening to me." Genni cried out in frustration and apparently, I wasn't, being lost inside my book and its world.

I laid down my books, looked Genni square in the eyes, and said, "Honey, what are we playing. Tell your old Abuela what it is she not listening to today," as I gave her a quick hug and a peck on the cheek to tell her I loved her, and she was important to me.
