A young teenage male has a "talk" with his lunar aler-ego.
The smell of the boys locker room at school was noxious. Shawn held his breath as he walked in after the game. Coach was already yelling, "Listen up! I'm proud of you boys tonight! We got the win!" The boys all cheered. "Ok, let's get showered and I'll see you boys at practice on Monday." the coach said. Shawn caught a glimpse of his phone sitting on the shelf in his locker. It was already 7:30. "Shit" Shawn said to himself. He quickly showered and got dressed. He grabbed his phone and bag and ran out the locker room door. Not saying goodbye to anyone. He ran to his truck. "Fuck, fuck, fuck." Shawn said to himself.
But he wasn't going to make it. He put his phone and bag in the truck and walked down the alley between the two buildings of the school.

"Why do you do this to me?" Shawn said to himself. For a few moments there was silence. But then he got an answer. "I did not choose this. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time Shawn." the voice in his head told him. "I know. I don't blame you, I blame myself." Shawn said back. "If you keep running from this, it will only get worse for you. You must accept this." the voice told him.

"But do you have any idea what it's like to have this happen to you? What it's doing to my life?" Shawn asked back. "Yes." the voice told him. "It's changing every part of me. It's ruining everything I love." Shawn said as he looked around to make sure no one followed him. "You and I are one now Shawn. We must accept this and embrace it. " the voice told him.

Shawns' body temperature began to rise and his heart started to pound in his chest. "Fuck you, and fuck this." Shawn said. Shawn felt the pain start in his lower back and work up his spine. "Please....give me some more time." Shawn begged in his head. "No. I cannot control this. It is not up to me." the voice told him. Shawn fell to his knees, bent over, and groaned slightly in pain. The bone in his knee cracked and shifted a bit. "No, you're doing this on purpose to me aren't you?" Shawn said. "No, I am not. This is all part of the curse. A curse you could've avoided Shawn." the voice told him. Shawn's knuckles popped as hair started growing through his skin. Shawn cried out.

"You must understand that I am part of you. You are part of me. We are one." the voice told him. Shawn screamed as his ribcage grew and his spine stretched. In slight burst of anger, Shawn pulled off his basketball jersey and threw it on the ground. He looked down at his chest and saw his muscles begin to harden and hair grow.

Shawn panted heavily. "Please.....stop...." Shawn said. "Next time you will listen when someone tells you something." the voice told him. Shawn groaned loudly. "AHHH!!!" Shawn yelled as his jawbone moved and teeth grew. It was at this point the man and beast began to merge. "You see, we are almost done. Accept this Shawn. It is who you are. It is who we are." the voice told him. "ARRRGHH!!!!" Shawn groaned loudly as his body mass increased. Hair was now covering his entire body.
"I......will...not.....don't do this....to....me..." Shawn said through his changing vocal cords. "That is where you are wrong Shawn. You are not doing this to yourself. We are doing this together." the voice told him. Shawn's shorts ripped and his sneakers exploded. "NOOOOO!!!!" Shawn yelled. "Do not fight this. It will only hurt more." The voice said.

Shawn panted and took a moment to catch his breath. He looked around again to make sure no one was there. Then Shawn stood up and stretched. He looked down at his hands and the long sharp claws that were once his fingernails. He was at a loss to stop this from happening to him. He accepted it, but hated it.
"This is who you are. This is who we are Shawn." the voice told him.

The last of transformation completed as his face elongated into a snout. The Werewolf now assumed total control. The Werewolf took off running at incredible speed down the alleyway and into the woods behind the school. His clothes laid ripped and shredded in a pile on the ground back in the alley.

-The Next Morning-
Shawn awoke in a garbage dump somewhere. Not sure of where he was or what happened. "You did it to me again" Shawn said in his head. "Yes, but I left you someplace safe. Now get to your home and get cleaned up Shawn." the voice told him back. "I wish this would stop. I hate you" Shawn said. "I do not wish for you to hate me. But you must Accept this." the voice said.

Shawn stood up and grabbed and found a piece of ragged cloth to put over his naked body. Shawn walked through the trash yard until he hit the road. Shawn's memory came flooding back to him. "Did I hurt anyone last night?" Shawn asked. "No, you did not." The voice said. "Well there is that." Shawn said.

Shawn started walking down the road barefooted.
He walked about a mile down the barred country road, before he came to the back of the school. It was a miracle that no one saw him.
There in the alley lay his ruined clothes. Shawn was relieved they were still there. He gathered them up and hid them in his truck. He pulled out his backpack and put on some clothes from his gym locker. Shawn drove home and snuck back into his house. He put his ruined clothes in a trash bag and went and showered.

In the shower, Shawn said to his inner beast. "We have to work on your timing. Basketball season just started and you've ruined 3 sets of clothes already." Shawn said. "This is not under my control. If you would listen next time and be mindful of the time, this would not happen" the voice said. Shawn finished his shower and put on some clean clothes.
"So much for my Saturday night." Shawn thought.
