Streets paved in gold

When life’s journey begins
The streets are solid and new
Choices made in construction
Determine the life that is due

As life’s journey continues
The streets begin to fade
The road is now a reflection
Of the choices that we made

As the journeys end is near
The road is tattered and torn
Our life choices were reflected
Beginning the day we were born

When the journey is over
In heaven I am told
The streets are better than new
