Poem of reflection written on Good Friday
Lord I desire to be found in you,
Trusting that You are making all things new.
Believing through the doubts and the enemies lies of fear,
Seeking You on my face, to the point of tears.
I cry out tears of joy, tears of sorrow,
All the while believing You will make all things new tomorrow.
Knowing and believing, trusting what you have done for me,
Choosing to lay down your will, your life, and take up the Cross at Calvary.
You were battered and beaten, humiliated, taking my place,
Here I am Lord, I am seeking your face.
Completing the works the Father ordained before time began,
Reconciling to yourself, The Bride of The Son of Man.
Thank you Jesus for all you are doing, All that you have done.
I pray and yield to You, Asking for Your Kingdom come.
Give me patience Lord, give me strength,
Let me know the height and depth of your love, the full length.

Spending time with you, in the quiet of this place,
Longing to be in your presence, to feel your loving embrace.
Through the discomforts of life and seasons of despair,
Trusting you, believing you, knowing you are there.
For you told me your yoke is easy, and your burden is light,
When I am weak and desperate, I choose to stand in your might.
So here I am Jesus, I hunger and I thirst,
I believe through your suffering You lifted the Curse.
For it is said, "Cursed is everyman that hangs on the tree",
Thank you for doing only what You could do, thank you for choosing me!

For all the world went dark and hell started to rejoice,
The demons and the devil cheered with a loud voice.
The world went dark, the earth quaked, and the veil fell down,
For this is where the King gave us Victory, where he gave us our crowns.
No longer orphans, no longer alienated by our sins, no longer damned,
For you poured out every drop of your blood as heaven shouted WORTHY IS THE LAMB!
For when you bore the shame of man, and took all of the worlds sin,
I am no longer a captive, no longer a slave, now I am a friend!
