Acrostic poem
13 lines
96 words

Shamrock worn, coloured green.
Today’s the day to wear it and be seen.

Plenty to tell about this man,
Asps, away from him they ran,
To the sea and from the cliffs they fell.
Religious man with sermons to tell.
Ireland, green and pleasant land,
Christian people, to be sure they’re grand.
Kidnapped from his English home.
Sixteen he was and had never roamed.

Day to celebrate and dance,
And drink, perhaps romance?
Yes, and a Guiness or two perchance?
