Lost and Found I had just gotten up to check the washing machine when I heard my phone ring. Reaching in my pocket, unconsciously, I was surprised to find it wasn’t there. It had to be nearby, I’d just heard it ring! It rang again. I tried to figure out from where. It was muffled a bit, but then it usually was, when in my pocket, so that didn’t help. I couldn’t seem to get a clear direction. On the third ring I caught the direction, the laundry room. I must have left it there when I put the wash in. Rushing now, I scooting into the room, unfortunately no forth ring. Still, I had to find it, so I started looking around. It had to be here somewhere! After a few minutes I convinced myself that I’d just misheard it. It was certainly not here, I’d looked everywhere, even under the machines! Well, if worst came to worse, I could go next door and ask Mrs. Green to call me so I could find the stupid phone. Calming down, I realized the wash was done, so I might as well get it in the dryer before I go over to Mrs. Green’s to reaffirm her opinion that I was an idiot… As I pulled the wet laundry out and untwisted it all from each other, something suddenly hit the floor, hard! My phone! Apparently it had been in the pocket of the jeans I tossed in the load at the last minute on my way to the laundry room. It was a miracle! My phone went through the entire wash cycle and still worked, plus I’d actually heard it ring from the other room! They were absolutely right when they said this phone was amazing! Unfortunately, it wasn’t drop proof… |
