Kitchen

I spent so many years cooking up a storm.
Endless meals, day after day after day.
Always in the kitchen and expected to perform.
My cakes and puds and gourmet plates, were always on display.

But now, oh joy, hip hip hurrah!
It’s only me and him.
We eat from mainly tin and jar,
Or not at all, if that’s my whim.
