Do what you love

For 22 years, she'd been at this JOB
It made her laugh, it made her sob.

HARD WORK was her life, her passion
The Doctors called her 'ANGEL with a mission'

The children's ward was a place of joy
She cared for every girl and boy

"Each," she said, "is my son or daughter"
And the ward rang out with children's laughter.

Parents of young patients, full of praise
With SURPRISE heard she didn't gat a RAISE

They talked it over and formed a group
"Parents for Nurse" - in a troupe

All marched to the office of the Director
Demanding a PROMOTION for her

The Director said, "I'd like to, you know
But at this point the funds are low."

"We don't have enough in the purse
To give a raise to your favourite nurse."

The parents calmed their agitation
and instead took up a collection.

From their wallets and their pockets
Online and by wire, the hospital got it.

The committee matched the contribution
Together, they'd found the solution!

Everyone salary was increased
The staff and the parents were so pleased!

The sick heal very quickly here
The place is full of prayer and cheer

The Angel with a Mission has shown the way
Selfless service always does pay!
