Ashley couldn't stop staring at the eggs she had discovered. She knew there were thieves around. These eggs seemed to be calling out to her. Instinctively, she took a step forward. There was a pure aura around these eggs. She didn't want to mess it up. Then she took another step forward. The draw seemed forceful, she couldn't turn her back no matter how hard she tried. These eggs were stolen by somebody from someone. She couldn't just take them. Still, she felt drawn to them in a mysterious way, as if some mysterious force pulled her in. Eventually, she reached the eggs and touched them. A bright light shone through and they hatched revealing two golden lion cubs. At least that was what she could tell they were. Cats didn't hatch from eggs unless they were a part of the many creatures that existed that needed a bond with a human in order to hatch. Many creatures like this had long lives to live. And they grew in number well if paired up with the same kind.

Then the scene went from a beach to a cave. In this cave were clothes. How long had it been since she had decent clothes to wear, but she noticed these lion cubs weren't just any kind of creatures. They were the Ultimate Epic kind of creatures that only happened once in a million years. Here she was only 10 years old. She couldn't fathom the idea of living that long. Yet the creatures she hatched proved to be the kind. Her first challenge went without being told, just written. To put on these clothes and rings and adjust to her new form. Reluctantly, she did this. Who was the owner and how will she reach out to the owner of these clothes and creatures? This place she came from was filled with thieves. Still, she had to do what was told or else she was trapped in the cave.

After 32,001,352 eggs to bond with later, she was back on the beach as if time had never passed away. There were seven other people on the beach as well. One of them used an invisibility ring in plain sight. She looked offshore and did the same as well. The ship had to belong to the thieves. Six people scrambled about with their creatures and clothes, promising their creatures to find their owners. Still, she couldn't come out of hiding and neither did that boy that went into hiding. She moved onto the rocky part and covered up her tracks the best she could. It looked almost natural.

"Six egg nappers from my ploy. Just what I wanted. Only none of you are affected by my potion of transformation of mind control and power. I will give you something handsomely if you obey me. Take them all my lads," the head of the rowboat said and began attacking the other six all at the same time.

All she could do was to wait. Then she realized it was Old Skull, the former Guardian of the World who had turned to dark magic for power and knew there was no way she could stand a chance against him. While the others did okay against his goons, they were no match against Old Skull. She knew she faced the same fate in getting captured if she revealed herself and waited. That boy would be her only hope in getting out of here. He seemed calm, cool, and collected before going invisible. Old Skull snooped out the beach for more for a while and said the date. July fourth, 6000. She had been gone from her home for only two months but it already felt like more. Finally Old Skull was the last to leave leaving nobody behind but an empty beach. They waited until near dusk when the ship left before revealing themselves to each other.

"Hello. My name is Ja'moir. What is yours?" Ja'moir asked.

"Ashley," Ashley replied.

"We just survived our first encounter of Old Skull, that villain who wants to rule the world. We must thwart his plans by working together and getting out of this mess first. Are you with me?"

"Yes."

"I never want to see you again."

The witch trembled in the corner. I thought I had her cornered and the fight was over. I stared around at the humble cottage. Everything looked like a mess from the fight. Then I noticed she held a potion in her hand. A trap or last minute ditch I assume. She cackled.

"Then it should go with style," she responded and threw the potion at my feet. It landed just a few inches away and the glass broke and a fume came out.

"I'm not having anymore of your- meow," I argued feverishly as I suddenly felt dizzy and growing smaller. Then it felt as if I couldn't stand on my two legs anymore. I had four instead. I was turned into a cat!

"Good luck. This place belongs to me now," the witch cried out.

I ran upstairs to my bedroom. There my fiance was watching me. Then I knew what she was going to do. She was going to kiss me. I heard about princes turned into frogs then back into princes by a kiss, so I figured that wouldn't hurt. I would be able to save my place based off of a kiss now. She kissed cats a lot naturally. And now I was one of them.

Bert wanted nothing of the sort. Everything bored him. There was nothing left to do and nowhere to turn to. He headed down the stairs and walked out the door. Few moments later the eviction people came to empty the apartment of his things. He saved his belongings what he wanted to save. His phone, computer, important papers, and some clothing. He sighed. Now he wondered who would take him in now that he was jobless and homeless. Nothing felt right. His landowner had died of a heart attack. And now he was on the street. He lost his job last night since it was temporary work. He knew it was coming. Job he wasn't worried about though, it was a place to stay that was hard to find. Now that he had lost everything he had to start over from scratch.

"Hey buddy. Looking for a new job?" his neighbor Alley asked from across the street. "Sorry to hear that your landlord had died by the way. It's rough to lose your only place to live."

"Yes, now I'm looking for a job. Any leads?" Bert asked hopeful. He had parked his car out of the way so that it wouldn't get towed without notice.

"Silverstine is hiring. Go check there. They offer good pay and hard work. This kind of work can last for days at a time," Alley replied cheerfully.

"Good to hear. I'll go over there right now."

"Good luck. You're going to need it."

Bert drove over to where Silverstine was located on his GPS and then waited in line to fill out an application and get a spot in the hiring interview section. He needed a job no matter what. His credit was good so he stood a good chance of finding another place to live, which was going to be hard to find. While he waited he was handed over an application and filled that out and waited to get on the list for interview. When his turn came he found his interview had to be scheduled in three days time. Not blaming them for this, he went to his car and spent money to stay at a hotel for 30 days. There was a chance he wouldn't be able to move in right away.

Three days past and the time for his interview arrived. He drove back slowly and parked in the interviewee parking spot. Then he went straight to the desk and got settled in immediately. They called him in promptly and the interview began. After a series of long questions they gave some details about what this job was about. Exploring and making peace among magical inhabitants so others could visit this land as well. The kind of job he could only dream about doing. After saying yes he could do this kind of thing, he got hired on the spot. His first mission was to make peace among the goblins.

Terry yawned. This wasn't the first time he had woken up early. But his flight wasn't until five hours from now and he needed to prepare. Learning to fly had been a challenge and he wasn't giving up. He had a few successful attempts and wanted to make a good impression. All of the circuits had been memorized and he felt well prepared for it. The plan was in tip top shape as he liked to call it. The flight was going to be a short flight but still an important one. This trip was about delivering a special suitcase to Mr. Fox. The big TV man made special arrangements to pick it up personally from the plane at a specific time. He couldn't be late either.

Getting dressed and eating his breakfast, he noticed something was off. The winds were unfavorable. Yet his flight was still to happen. He gulped. He never flew in unfavorable conditions before. Still, he wanted to make a good impression. He took care of everything in the house and then left to check in. Three hours to go. The drive was a good hour and it would take an hour to get things ready for take off there. He needed the time. When he got there he found a commercial flight was delayed to take off at the time he was suppose to take off. Frustrated, he waited. He was going to be late.

The time came for him to take off. The plane went as it was suppose to and the lift off went smoothly. The air around him was turbulent though and he thought of going back. No, he had to press forward. He had to make a good impression to Mr. Fox. He flew through the air until he was almost there. Then a bird got caught in the engine of one wing and caused that engine to falter. Almost there he told himself. He had to make an emergency landing though.

Down he went and he managed to make it onto the landing platform where his destination was. Still he was going a tad too fast. Quickly he slowed the plane down as much as it would allow him and then made a stop short of his destination. His engine smoked where the bird went in and he moaned. Now he was without a plane for a while. He needed a new engine. All his hard work! But then he heard he got promoted for his bravery to face the danger and was granted a new plane to fly.

Jeff put a pen to paper
And thought what would he do
But to write a long poem
To his dear mother Berry

He thought he planned out
What he would say
He searched for his outline
To begin the long poem

Short notice was his writing
She was coming soon
So he began writing
Without his outline

The words came pure and true
Out flowed the heart and soul
The poem turned from one page to next
As he remembered his outline

The wind blew fierce
Through the window
He put the finished pages of poem
Under a rock

A knock came on the door
He didn't have time to proofread
His long poem was almost complete
He rushed to finish it

He opened the door
There Berry stood
He handed her his long poem
And waited patiently for her to read

Riddled with mistakes
She could barely make out the message
But the theme resounded
I love you and I miss you

Tears in her eyes
She hugged Jeff and said
"This is the best poem you wrote.
Now it does need corrected to understand better."

Thunder wandered toward the cave where he knew Terry slept. His brother must be sleeping but the berry thieves is still a mystery. The berries were ripe now and he wanted to dig into the bottom of the mystery. Who would steal a whole forest of berries and leave none behind? They had to set a trap before more thieves appear, but he couldn't do it alone.

"Brother Terry, wake up! The berries are ripe now and no one is in plain sight. We need to trap the thieves before it's too late," Thunder called out as soon as he entered the cave.

"Oh, brother Thunder, I had a nightmare. I do hope my secret spot is safe and sound. Yes, the thieves won't be frozen for long. We need a permanent solution to stop them. Digging a hole in front of some bushes would do and hope it's their first target too. These berries would spoil and rot in bags and produce a chemical harmful to others, turning others into zombies if they aren't stopped. I just hope that secret about these berries isn't known to them," Terry yawned and got up.

"Digging a hole would be great! I think I may know where to go first. The bushes on the outskirts of the forest that are easily accessible."

"Yes, that sounds like a good place to start off first. Let's hurry because those thieves could strike anytime."

"And pray that innocent people don't fall for our traps too. Signs should do the trick."

Thunder got to work in hunting down the specific bushes they talked about while Terry searched for covering for the hole. They took turns in trading places when either of them grew tired. When evening fell their trap was ready and they laid anti digging spells so that the thieves couldn't dig their way out. The signs were put out to warn anyone not to go to the bushes. Soon they heard rustling and Terry saw the exact same thieves that he had faced earlier when the berries were stolen. This time they had anti freeze protection on them. They drew ever closer to the bushes that the dragons had set a trap for.

The thieves laughed at the signs and continued forward. Then they were standing in the middle of the trap. Quickly Terry and Thunder pressed the button. The ground gave away beneath the thieves' feet and soon were in the bottom of the hole. Terry and Thunder rushed in, laughing and celebrating. They had success in capturing the thieves, the next step was to turn them into the police.

Terry and Thunder hid among the trees just in time for the cops to come. The thieves had apparently called the cops themselves. A firetruck came too. The firefighters helped the thieves out and the cops placed the thieves under arrest. Their stories just didn't mesh up at all. Evidence against them was great. Once more Terry and Thunder secretly celebrated their victory and when all was clear they covered the hole up so it was safe for anyone to come take from the berries.

Thunder paced back and forth. He was sibling of the dragon that lived in the cave and ate berries in the forest. What bugged him was the lack of ripe berries found. Everywhere he searched, all he found were unripe berries. That would do his brother no good. Then he saw a lady and a child searching for berries among the bushes and sighed. This was no ordinary situation. That lady and child looked starving.

"Greetings. May I help you find some ripe berries? It looks like some thieves have stripped this portion of the forest of the berries away," Thunder greeted them in his most gentle voice.

"Sure. We have been searching everywhere for ripe berries but can find none. I wonder what has happened to them all," the lady replied. "We are starving and need food to eat. It looks like we will have to wait a few days before there are ripe berries."

"There is one place I haven't checked yet but it is my brother's favorite hiding spot for the berries to grow. It may be the only place the thieves haven't gotten to yet. My name is Thunder by the way," Thunder introduced himself.

"I am Lilac. This is Daisy, my daughter. There had always been berries year round in this forest all of my life and we've never run out of food before," Lilac complained.

"This is unusual indeed. I feed off of deer and moose. Don't worry. My brother feeds off of these berries but never hogs the berries to himself. I see new seedlings where he planted new seeds. He recovered the stolen berries but they must have been a mess to be eatable. These berries don't do well in bags. Come follow me. It isn't far," Thunder said.

"Berries," Daisy spoke up and cried a little."

Thunder led the group to a spot close to a waterfall. Then he allowed them onto his back and carried them in the air up to the top of the cliff and then into a deep valley and landed. There they settled and saw berries ripe and ready for the taking. This part of the forest hadn't been touched by thieves at all yet. He was proud for his brother's smart thinking. He let the lady and her daughter gather as many berries as they could muster before deciding it was time to head on back. Then he sighed. For a few days he would have to watch out for those wanting berries to carry them on his back to his brother's secret hiding place and back before ripe berries were available in the forest once again. The thieves had done a lot of damage but hope was growing fast under his brother's care. He wished Lilac and Daisy a safe journey back as they separated and he became alone once more to watch over the berries of the forest.

Once upon a time a dragon lived in a cave high in the mountains. Its name was Terry and it lived off of the forest berries. One day it went to its favorite spot to pick up some berries to eat only to find they had vanished. Anger and fury bubbled up from inside and it unleashed a fiery breath. Who dare invade its territory?

With a swish of its wings Terry flew high in the air to get a glimpse of the intruder. He flew around and around in a circle until finally he saw marks of someone or something trying to get away with a bag. This bag must hold the berries he's been searching for! He swooped down and found a way down through the tree branches to the place the intruder was headed. The masked face said it all in his opinion as he landed in front of them.

"Hand over the berries now! They aren't just for you to steal from me. You didn't ask. I eat those berries year round," Terry demanded.

"They are anyone's game and I didn't drop dead eating them. Nothing in this forest is claimed. It is first come first served. I found these berries fair and square. The redder they are, the ripper they are and the sweeter they are to eat," the man mocked Terry and heaved the bag over their shoulder.

"That's not right. What you are doing is wrong. The berries belong to the forest and I eat and throw the pits nearby so that more berries can grow and that's exactly what happens. This forest is filled with berry bushes because of me. Now give them back to me and I will spare your life. I hadn't eaten a human in a century or so. In fact, never had."

"If you think you are the guardian of this forest you are so sorely mistaken. We the gang need these berries to feed our bellies and food is running out. More and more security guards are on the loose."

"If that is your attitude then you will get it."

Terry huffed and puffed, then breathed out an ice breath, freezing the man in place and causing the man to drop the bag of berries. Then he took the berries, ate them and planted the pits. All for a days job he thought to himself. Then he went back to the cave and fell asleep and dreamed that a woman and her child were looking for ripe berries and finding none.

"Today we are going to talk about the two main characters in your story. Do you want to guess who they are Felicia?" Mrs. Cattail introduced the class. Felicia groaned as he just walked in through the door, but had read the chapter the night before.

"Hero and the villain." Felicia sat down at a desk in the back.

"You are correct. An A for you for knowing the answer. The hero is the main protagonist of the story. And the villain is the main antagonist of the story. For your first story you will incorporate both, a hero and a villain. The story needs to be written in the point of view of the hero. The hero is with good qualities with some bad qualities as a weakness. The hero needs a weakness. The villain is with bad qualities with some good qualities as a weakness. The villain needs a weakness. To make a story interesting there needs to be a conflict. It must have a beginning, middle, and end. I want your first story to focus on the hero and the villain. It can be fiction. Good luck. The bell will ring any second now." Mrs. Cattail wrote on the board and presented with the power point as she spoke. Then the bell rang. "Felicia come here."

"Yes. Sorry I was late. It won't happen again. I see I made it in time for the lecture of the first chapter. Was there anything I missed?" Felicia looked down on the ground.

"I want you to take this quiz real quick. It covers English and Grammar and some things we haven't covered yet in this class but will cover. It's just to see where you stand. Since school is over then you could do this real quick before getting on the bus to go home. Is there something bugging you? I see you have a black eye."

"It's just that Lake and Blake stopped me on my way over to class and I blacked out from their punches. I just recovered from their attack."

"I'm so sorry. Maybe you should go to the hospital?"

"No, I don't want to go to the hospital. I'll be okay."

"If you are sure about that. Bullying isn't tolerated."

Felicia did the quiz and then thanked her for her time, promising to be on time next time. When Felicia got out she made her way over to the bus, which was still waiting for her. Glad the bus waited, she got onto the bus and walked through until she reached the back seat. Lake and Blake were there on the other side. Sighing, she sat down. Hopefully nothing would happen. She couldn't wait to get home. Bullying wasn't tolerated yet it happened to her frequently. Still, they were laughing. Up to something, she warned herself.

"What do you want this time?" Felicia asked them.

"Your backpack," Lake replied.

"No."

"Yes."

This couldn't be happening. All of her homework was important to keep so she could do it when she got home. They laughed harder. This time pointing to her face. She looked away. They were making fun of how she looked. Soon it was their turn to get off the bus. Good. She didn't have to deal with them for the rest of the way. Still, she had no friends. She felt as blue as she looked blue. Just then, a girl her size came over. She smiled. The girl smiled back. The girl was in her classes as well, so homework was safe and sound. She had finally made a new friend. The bus stopped and it was her turn to get off. She waved goodbye and made her way out of the bus and into the house.

Spiky, the spiked pearl dragon, ran until she ran out of breath. Looking around her, she noticed she had come across a stream that appeared to be out of touch from civilization. Coming to the edge, she lowered her neck to take a drink of water. A fish jumped out of the water and hit her in the nose. Startled, she moved backwards. There was a group of birds flying from tree to tree. Frogs jumped in and out of the water, catching insects.

"Why can't I get a drink from this stream?" Spiky asked out loud.

Then a bear came toward her with three cubs. A mama bear. Quickly, Spiky flew toward the trees. The bear came closer and closer with the cubs following. Then Spiky noticed one of the cubs was limping. Cautiously, she moved toward the cub, then swooped down and grabbed it. The cub had a bear trap on its hind leg. Working quickly, she dislodged the bear trap and gently dropped the cub to an enraged mama bear. Then she used her healing powers to heal the bear cub. Before the mama bear could strike she flew away to the trees, turning to watch the mama bear when she got there with the bear trap in her claw.

The mama bear and the cubs crossed the stream. Once again, the mama bear headed in her direction. She didn't know what to do. The mama bear swiped at her and then turned around and headed off. That was it? So that swipe was a way to say thank you? She didn't know the language of the wild beasts here. The cub could swim, despite the pain. Good. She didn't have a chance to heal the cub fully. It still limped. Still, maybe now she could take a drink of water from the stream. By now she was awfully thirsty.

Bruce ran freely through the trees on the ground. He was having fun in the woods with his human. Or so he thought. He turned around and sniffed the air. His human was nowhere to be found. Oh no! Just then a squirrel came across the path and looked at him.

"Missing anyone?" The squirrel had an acorn in its front paws.

"Yes, I'm missing my human. I don't smell or see her anywhere. How do I get back home? I can't be without her." Bruce, the German Shepard, cried out.

"If I don't get eaten, I could try calling the attention of a falcon. Wait here. The falcon knows the way. I'm Acorn by the way. Pro at collecting acorns."

"I'm Bruce."

Bruce waited and waited for what seemed like forever. Then two crows and a falcon appeared, along with Acorn. Nighttime was falling quick and Bruce was hungry and thirsty. Never had he been separated from her before.

"I know of a house nearby and seen a German Shepard looking like you run beside it all day. That must be your home by the forest here. You wish to go back home? I can take you there. This path will take you a ways away from your home but the road leads to the house. It's dangerous with the traffic," the falcon said.

"Yes please. Tell me the best way to get there. Show me in fact." Bruce wagged his tail.

"I'll do the shortcut." The falcon then flew off the path into the wild area. Bruce followed.

Two hours later lights appeared. Then the full moon. Bruce recognized the smell and the house. At last, he was home! He thanked the falcon, never having to learn its name, and dashed home. There, his human was crying. One bark cheered her up though.

Prompt: Bruce the German Shepard gets separated from his human one day. He has to learn from his forest friends to get back home.
