"And she will be able to go to the Elite School for the Special. There will be a rigorous course but I'm sure she will do just fine in it. It will be a huge jump for her. She is going to be held back one grade but that will be just fine. She hasn't been held back a grade before so there won't be any problems. She's going against the best and she's an A student so this change will present a new challenge for her to learn. Thank you for your corporation," Sheila explained.

"It's an honor. Good thing you will work on a settlement for her too. She will do her very best. She's a fast learner when it comes to school. That school is an honor as well. I hear it's for the best kids around but has accommodations for slow learners. I can't wait to hear from her on how things are," Ashley's father Jake said.

"Good things only. We trust she would be safe in your hands. You take time to teach her the basic things like cleaning. She's behind in that. My two other daughters and sons learned their cleaning well by now," Ashley's mother Aqua said.

"I will make sure she can learn it well. I'm experienced with much worse conditions. Just like I'm the guardian of this planet we live on, I can be a guardian for her too. I'll make sure that she is well cared for. For her situation, she couldn't have any other way to get out. I'd say she did the right thing. You can petition for her too and I'll cover the expenses. I'd love to hear what you have to say in the matter," Sheila informed them.

"Only being an honor instead of a punishment. Even though it is in some ways. I'll miss being with you and can't wait to visit you. I'll call you often. It's not like we'd be far away. Just an hour away. Every weekend I could visit you," Ashley said, hugging her parents.

"That settles it. Yes, you can visit them weekly. I'll make sure you get your homework done first though and, if you need to study for a test, you can do that while you visit them. Now, the hard part of registering you into that school. You'd be in 4th grade when you start," Sheila said.

"That's cool. I do hope they have enough room for me. I look forward to it, even if I don't deserve it," Ashley said.

"See you later," Ashley's parents said, then left the area.

"I miss them already," Ashley said.

I know of one who is in the military of my own country and that is my brother. I can only tell a tale about his journey to working in a different country based on what he told me. Therefore, I will begin my journey of telling you all about it in the form of a story. He got promoted to Captain while he was gone and endured hardships to make it through and come back to me. There was a case where an important official got shot in my country and my country sought justice. Here's how it went:

One day my brother got a noticed after a weekend of drills. That notice informed him that he was going to Parada to seek justice for the shot official. The loss was heavy on him since he knew that official to be his best friend who had worked up the ranks. It happened in this country. There was peace before that happened. Now he had to face war. United Kingdom was huge on it's own continent. That's where we live. There are multiple kingdoms that decided to unite together as one and form United Kingdom. One council to rule them all. I couldn't ask for better.

On that fateful day my brother was transported to Parada. He gained the rank of Elite Commander in the military as a Captain of a warship. His specialty was in the navy. The people he was in control of didn't like him though and pulled pranks on him. He felt lonely, yet insisted on being the best there was. He punished the prankers and got to searching on who killed his best friend. His leads led him to a gang that wanted to take control of the world. This gang was large and sophisticated. It wasn't the country's fault. He had to prove it before it led to an unnecessary war.

There was fake evidence discovered that brought the two countries closer to a war. He had to prove the writing was by that of a gang member and not from the country by tapping into their computers. He successfully did that and proved to them it wasn't the country's fault but the gang's fault. Then the FBI stepped in. The peace within the countries stayed even though there was a danger of going to war.

He worked hard in tracking down the men alongside the FBI and discovered it was a threat from the gang to overcome United Kingdom and they planned on striking again. So they got to work in finding out a list of names who were involved in the gang to try to capture all of them. The two countries took this seriously and the other country's military joined in. They didn't have a FBI too but the military was specialized in these kind of things. Gangs were frowned upon as was.

When he captured the man who did it, well it turned out to be a woman instead of a man. She was dressed to assassinate the Head of the Military of that country. Only men were allowed to draw near. In exceptions, women. She was no exception at all though. She ended up facing a death sentence by that country and life in prison for us. The evidence was clear and proved the false evidence to be faked. He was glad to find the women responsible and saw the punishment deserving. When he returned back to United Kingdom five months had passed by but he still kept his house. He got a promotion for doing a good job and working with the others and was able to spend time with his family for at least six months, including me. He told me everything right away but it took some time for me to process. I'm proud of him and he did a great job for my country.

Everything I said was fiction except about my brother, to protect his identity. He made enemies along the way but that didn't stop him from doing the right thing. I'm proud of him to keep the peace of my country alive and bring countries closer together rather than falling apart over unnecessary fighting. May the veterans get the honor they deserve.

Ja'moir and Ashley got off the dragon and looked around. The creatures that helped them had arrived and were in cages on the ground as well. To their acknowledgement the creatures were well cared for and seemed to have a bonding issue as their original owner was affecting them and their cloud of judgement. They saw this wasn't going to be easy. They kept the creatures they hatched from an egg safely with them. There was no arguing about what to do when they met those creatures' owners. They still haven't decided on what to do about the creatures they hatched from the wild. Those creatures seemed to be a bit hostile toward them and they understood why. Love and care was their attitude to turning those creatures around. For now those creatures would do everything they told them to do, but higher levels met chance for rebellion to occur without the proper level of Mastery. They won't earn any badges or belts but the Mastery was a Jojo where masters gather to share their ranks. The higher their rank would be, the better. Right now they were at Rank 0 and those creatures they hatched were a nuisance. The elite creatures they hatched were cooperating even though they had leveled up through the fight for survival. They knew this wouldn't last long though. Those creatures had every opportunity to rebel due to no rank and it would take them completing multiple ranks before they could start depending on them as regular. Still, those creatures wanted to see their real owners just as much.

"Ashley, your tracer is reacting to me. That means you've hatched my ultimate creatures and had to hatch the rest in no time at all. I want to see the top creatures. They would be honest and least affected by the bond you carry with them. And an explanation of what happened to the fullest to the best of your ability," a lady came up to her said with her arms down.

"I had no choice. I was trapped on the beach with these eggs calling for me to come hatch them from my escape. Or was I in the building if the eggs were kept there? Either way, I hatched the first two then was teleported to the cave where I had to do the rest. These clothes I wear aren't mine either, they are yours. Then when I was finished with the cave then I went back to the beach and found there was a ship offshore. I put on my invisibility ring and so did Ja'moir. We hid and Old Skull couldn't find us. The escape route was a trap too. Filled with creatures that wanted to kill us. These 100 creatures didn't do the same. They want to learn to live a better life. Give them a chance. Without them we would've been toast. Finally, the castle was a trap too. But in the end we escaped through a portal and landed here. Your creatures have been longing to see you and they have a right to see you right away," Ashley said and then summoned all of the elite creatures that were in the slots.

"Ah so these creatures are changing masters. Old Skull and his wife are their original masters?"

"Yes, they are. I believe the eggs we hatched from the nest belongs to us. Those creatures are hostile though and not to be trusted. They think they belong to Old Skull and his wife. What I have belongs to his wife. But if these creatures' hearts are changed then maybe they will accept being with me instead. I think the eggs were abandoned and anyone could claim them. We did before they spoiled and were no good anymore. The eggs were fresh."

"Ah, so you now have hostile creatures that think the enemy is their master. The starfish alone will help you bond equally with them. They will be affected by that but do try to win their hearts. Focus on the fact they were abandoned. Now, my creatures trust you very much. They are happy to see me but don't want to separate from you easily. You kept your word to them and they are happy about that. I would have found you no matter what. I will say you can keep them and the rewards. There are consequences but I'll work out what would be acceptable. You didn't steal them, Old Skulls' minions stole them. Under one condition that you will go for Guardian of this World like me. It's challenging but also the most rewarding. Old Skull and his wife used to be Guardians of Amerosa before they turned evil and started doing evil things. You will be allowed to visit these creatures but not free them until they are fully bonded to you enough so that they would come with you in the slots and boxes. Now, we will need to contact your parents and go through a hearing. You will need to testify as you did to me but I'll make sure you don't get treated as an adult. You did the right thing. You deserve to be rewarded for that."

"Thank you. There are six others that had been on the beach when Old Skull found them and took them away. You need to find those six. They have creatures too that were found on the beach and went through the same process. This is your job to take care of them before it's too late."

"We will look into that. They won't kill them but may harm them. It'd be a situation that needs resolved right away. My level and others like me are the ones who can face Old Skull. You can too with the blessings of an angel. I'm not sure if that would ever happen though but I had met angels in my lifetime."

"Cool! I would love to meet an angel. I wouldn't want to run across a demon though. Those are scary. So are werewolves, vampires, ghosts, and ghouls."

"I ran across them too and had to face them too. Fortunately for us there's a cure for werewolves and vampires and it's quite common too. The undead war had to be one of the scariest things I faced. No, I never ran the risk of being turned into a werewolf or vampire. I carry the cures with me."

"Yes, there is a lot of work to do and many to face. These creatures tend to creep me out since they are Evil, Dark, Chaos, and Crime elements. However, they have a heart."

"Yes, these creatures have a heart. Everyone does. Bad owners leads to bad creatures. It's vital that they are in the right hands. You appear to be one of those right hands."

"Thank you."

Ja'moir and Ashley found themselves in a large entryway on the other side of the portal. The creatures that didn't attack them followed closely behind. Already there were guards coming toward them, at least she assumed them to be guards or security officers. It was normal for them to be everywhere. She leaned onto the cobra for support and took out the translator tool. If anything she didn't recognize the language on the walls even though she understood the letters were letters. That part was similar to her language and writing. She scanned the letters on the wall and Porch language appeared on her translator. Welcome to Albacore Castle her translator came up with. Then he pulled out the translator too, explaining he didn't know this language well and wasn't fluent in it to speak. Let alone understand a simple conversation.

"Hello, welcome to the Albacore Castle. Please put all except one creatures away in your slots or boxes for the safety of everyone. You have too many creatures out," one guard said as they approached.

"These are not our creatures but they are turning from their old masters to us. Please keep them safe until we are able to accept them into our inventory. There are more important matters to discuss. We've been kidnapped and had to fight our way through hordes of creatures to get over here. This cobra is the most knowledgeable of all of them about their old master's plans. There were two different masters, a couple, causing havoc in our escape for help. They've taken the other six victims somewhere across the ocean. Please save them too," Ashley said into the translator and waited for the translator to do its work.

"If these are not your creatures then why are they following you?" the other guard asked.

"We talked them into joining our side and turning their back on their old master. They had doubts about why they were there and if it was the right thing. They helped us fight a hydra of Spicy element and are committed to protecting us. 50 choose Ja'moir and 50 choose me. If it weren't for them then we'd be dead by now," Ja'moir spoke up.

"We are going to have to take these creatures in for questioning. You said that these creatures aren't yours then? It's a process to be able to put them into your boxes..." the first guard pondered.

"Yes. We don't speak your language but obviously you are in Albacore country south of Amerosa. That's where we belong. We hope to return the creatures we hatched to their rightful owners," Ashley said, then realized both guards appeared to be female in nature.

"Do you have a passport?" the other guard spoke up.

"Not me, neither her. We were kidnapped from by that city, where we live," Ja'moir replied.

"You and your creatures will have to be deported then. You will return to your own country. Good luck finding the owner of these creatures. Now come with us. We will handle your creatures," the first guard said, motioning with their hand.

The two of them followed the guards into a security office, as they could tell by the cameras and TV screens up on the walls, and sat down in comfortable chairs. They did like the idea of going back home and sometimes a dragon would take them all the way. This was the case. Tomorrow they will be sent and the 100 creatures would follow shortly after. They warned against meeting Old Skull and Flame Poison until they were strong enough to take on these two criminals. Their profile and clothing didn't match those criminals. Still they could tell the people didn't trust them. As if they were wearing a mask. She sighed. She hoped they would be able to go back home.

Ja'moir and Ashley reached an old building with black vans parked all over in the parking lot. Something felt off. They felt like they were walking into a trap. Still, they followed the map. There were some creatures they were able to befriend as they had wandered through the forest that followed them. She felt nervous as she sniffed the air. A kind of spicy smell drifted from the building and then she felt nauseous. Spicy food made her sick to the stomach. He watched her hold her stomach for a little bit and stopped to sniff the air.

"Spicy food must be cooking. Or something spicy- like a hydra of Spicy element. Be on the watch. This building is the right building to search for help. I wonder what language they speak," Ja'moir observed.

"Ugh, if we go any closer I might puke. Still, we got to take our chances, don't we? A hydra of Spicy element, huh? I might fail this fight," Ashley said while regaining her posture.

"It's like an ancient castle, especially how huge it is. We got to find help around here somewhere, the only building in sight."

"You're right."

They moved forward into the building and went into the center where there was a large circle. Then they went into the only door that was open leading to the garden. Then they looked up and their hearts stopped for a moment. There, before them, was the largest creature they had ever met and the air smelled spicy. They asked the other creatures for help and took out their own. The starfish dragon was at the top.

The hydra moved first and they followed suit. Its fire was hot but they deflected most of the damage. The battle raged long and hard and they were growing tired. Their steady supply of potions were dwindling and the hydra hit hard. Soon they defeated the hydra and took the eggs. Then a portal opened leading to a different portion of the castle.

Ja'moir and Ashley had been walking around, fighting creatures, and collecting eggs as they went along in the forest with one goal in mind: to find help. They hoped against hope that the maps the creatures dropped would lead them to a place of help. These creatures were out to kill both of them so they had to defeat them first. They felt sorry about these creatures but knew these creatures belonged to Old Skull, the one who kidnapped the others. All they could do was to search out for help for the others. They were the ones roaming around freely. Too freely it seemed. For now all that they could think about was their kidnapped friends. Ashley didn't know them personally like Ja'moir did. She noticed he was hardcore in his fighting and barely got out hurt while she had to heal a lot and struggled in normal mode. Still, they couldn't afford to lose.

"I think we need to go a different route. These maps lead us to more forest only," Ja'moir complained after the thousandth time it seemed.

"You're right. Oh, wait. This map leads to a building. Not just any kind of building, but a creature castle! There we could get help. Or fall in his trap. He has set up lots of traps but we've slayed them all. Though I don't like the sound of slaying creatures. They were going to kill us if we didn't stop them. Not at all like wild creatures who tend to run away from us and be at lower levels. Wild creatures aren't tamable. Of course," Ashley said and sat down on the root of a tree.

"It may be our only hope. Despite my better judgement, I'd say we go there. Creature castles have powerful magic. Sooner or later we will be able to find help there."

"It's our only hope."

Ja'moir and Ashley set out again and came across a road. They followed the road until they came across more roads and turning to end up into a city. The city was quiet except for a few cars. They walked until they came across the creature castle. It looked modern and there were flying cars and regular cars parked in the parking lot for the sleepers. They gulped. The cars and trucks looked awfully alike, too much alike for their taste. Still, they moved forward. What kind of zone would Old Skull be putting them in at this creature castle and will they ever escape once they enter? There was only one way to find out. They couldn't turn their backs now.

Ashley couldn't stop staring at the eggs she had discovered. She knew there were thieves around. These eggs seemed to be calling out to her. Instinctively, she took a step forward. There was a pure aura around these eggs. She didn't want to mess it up. Then she took another step forward. The draw seemed forceful, she couldn't turn her back no matter how hard she tried. These eggs were stolen by somebody from someone. She couldn't just take them. Still, she felt drawn to them in a mysterious way, as if some mysterious force pulled her in. Eventually, she reached the eggs and touched them. A bright light shone through and they hatched revealing two golden lion cubs. At least that was what she could tell they were. Cats didn't hatch from eggs unless they were a part of the many creatures that existed that needed a bond with a human in order to hatch. Many creatures like this had long lives to live. And they grew in number well if paired up with the same kind.

Then the scene went from a beach to a cave. In this cave were clothes. How long had it been since she had decent clothes to wear, but she noticed these lion cubs weren't just any kind of creatures. They were the Ultimate Epic kind of creatures that only happened once in a million years. Here she was only 10 years old. She couldn't fathom the idea of living that long. Yet the creatures she hatched proved to be the kind. Her first challenge went without being told, just written. To put on these clothes and rings and adjust to her new form. Reluctantly, she did this. Who was the owner and how will she reach out to the owner of these clothes and creatures? This place she came from was filled with thieves. Still, she had to do what was told or else she was trapped in the cave.

After 32,001,352 eggs to bond with later, she was back on the beach as if time had never passed away. There were seven other people on the beach as well. One of them used an invisibility ring in plain sight. She looked offshore and did the same as well. The ship had to belong to the thieves. Six people scrambled about with their creatures and clothes, promising their creatures to find their owners. Still, she couldn't come out of hiding and neither did that boy that went into hiding. She moved onto the rocky part and covered up her tracks the best she could. It looked almost natural.

"Six egg nappers from my ploy. Just what I wanted. Only none of you are affected by my potion of transformation of mind control and power. I will give you something handsomely if you obey me. Take them all my lads," the head of the rowboat said and began attacking the other six all at the same time.

All she could do was to wait. Then she realized it was Old Skull, the former Guardian of the World who had turned to dark magic for power and knew there was no way she could stand a chance against him. While the others did okay against his goons, they were no match against Old Skull. She knew she faced the same fate in getting captured if she revealed herself and waited. That boy would be her only hope in getting out of here. He seemed calm, cool, and collected before going invisible. Old Skull snooped out the beach for more for a while and said the date. July fourth, 6000. She had been gone from her home for only two months but it already felt like more. Finally Old Skull was the last to leave leaving nobody behind but an empty beach. They waited until near dusk when the ship left before revealing themselves to each other.

"Hello. My name is Ja'moir. What is yours?" Ja'moir asked.

"Ashley," Ashley replied.

"We just survived our first encounter of Old Skull, that villain who wants to rule the world. We must thwart his plans by working together and getting out of this mess first. Are you with me?"

"Yes."

"I never want to see you again."

The witch trembled in the corner. I thought I had her cornered and the fight was over. I stared around at the humble cottage. Everything looked like a mess from the fight. Then I noticed she held a potion in her hand. A trap or last minute ditch I assume. She cackled.

"Then it should go with style," she responded and threw the potion at my feet. It landed just a few inches away and the glass broke and a fume came out.

"I'm not having anymore of your- meow," I argued feverishly as I suddenly felt dizzy and growing smaller. Then it felt as if I couldn't stand on my two legs anymore. I had four instead. I was turned into a cat!

"Good luck. This place belongs to me now," the witch cried out.

I ran upstairs to my bedroom. There my fiance was watching me. Then I knew what she was going to do. She was going to kiss me. I heard about princes turned into frogs then back into princes by a kiss, so I figured that wouldn't hurt. I would be able to save my place based off of a kiss now. She kissed cats a lot naturally. And now I was one of them.

Bert wanted nothing of the sort. Everything bored him. There was nothing left to do and nowhere to turn to. He headed down the stairs and walked out the door. Few moments later the eviction people came to empty the apartment of his things. He saved his belongings what he wanted to save. His phone, computer, important papers, and some clothing. He sighed. Now he wondered who would take him in now that he was jobless and homeless. Nothing felt right. His landowner had died of a heart attack. And now he was on the street. He lost his job last night since it was temporary work. He knew it was coming. Job he wasn't worried about though, it was a place to stay that was hard to find. Now that he had lost everything he had to start over from scratch.

"Hey buddy. Looking for a new job?" his neighbor Alley asked from across the street. "Sorry to hear that your landlord had died by the way. It's rough to lose your only place to live."

"Yes, now I'm looking for a job. Any leads?" Bert asked hopeful. He had parked his car out of the way so that it wouldn't get towed without notice.

"Silverstine is hiring. Go check there. They offer good pay and hard work. This kind of work can last for days at a time," Alley replied cheerfully.

"Good to hear. I'll go over there right now."

"Good luck. You're going to need it."

Bert drove over to where Silverstine was located on his GPS and then waited in line to fill out an application and get a spot in the hiring interview section. He needed a job no matter what. His credit was good so he stood a good chance of finding another place to live, which was going to be hard to find. While he waited he was handed over an application and filled that out and waited to get on the list for interview. When his turn came he found his interview had to be scheduled in three days time. Not blaming them for this, he went to his car and spent money to stay at a hotel for 30 days. There was a chance he wouldn't be able to move in right away.

Three days past and the time for his interview arrived. He drove back slowly and parked in the interviewee parking spot. Then he went straight to the desk and got settled in immediately. They called him in promptly and the interview began. After a series of long questions they gave some details about what this job was about. Exploring and making peace among magical inhabitants so others could visit this land as well. The kind of job he could only dream about doing. After saying yes he could do this kind of thing, he got hired on the spot. His first mission was to make peace among the goblins.

Terry yawned. This wasn't the first time he had woken up early. But his flight wasn't until five hours from now and he needed to prepare. Learning to fly had been a challenge and he wasn't giving up. He had a few successful attempts and wanted to make a good impression. All of the circuits had been memorized and he felt well prepared for it. The plan was in tip top shape as he liked to call it. The flight was going to be a short flight but still an important one. This trip was about delivering a special suitcase to Mr. Fox. The big TV man made special arrangements to pick it up personally from the plane at a specific time. He couldn't be late either.

Getting dressed and eating his breakfast, he noticed something was off. The winds were unfavorable. Yet his flight was still to happen. He gulped. He never flew in unfavorable conditions before. Still, he wanted to make a good impression. He took care of everything in the house and then left to check in. Three hours to go. The drive was a good hour and it would take an hour to get things ready for take off there. He needed the time. When he got there he found a commercial flight was delayed to take off at the time he was suppose to take off. Frustrated, he waited. He was going to be late.

The time came for him to take off. The plane went as it was suppose to and the lift off went smoothly. The air around him was turbulent though and he thought of going back. No, he had to press forward. He had to make a good impression to Mr. Fox. He flew through the air until he was almost there. Then a bird got caught in the engine of one wing and caused that engine to falter. Almost there he told himself. He had to make an emergency landing though.

Down he went and he managed to make it onto the landing platform where his destination was. Still he was going a tad too fast. Quickly he slowed the plane down as much as it would allow him and then made a stop short of his destination. His engine smoked where the bird went in and he moaned. Now he was without a plane for a while. He needed a new engine. All his hard work! But then he heard he got promoted for his bravery to face the danger and was granted a new plane to fly.

Jeff put a pen to paper
And thought what would he do
But to write a long poem
To his dear mother Berry

He thought he planned out
What he would say
He searched for his outline
To begin the long poem

Short notice was his writing
She was coming soon
So he began writing
Without his outline

The words came pure and true
Out flowed the heart and soul
The poem turned from one page to next
As he remembered his outline

The wind blew fierce
Through the window
He put the finished pages of poem
Under a rock

A knock came on the door
He didn't have time to proofread
His long poem was almost complete
He rushed to finish it

He opened the door
There Berry stood
He handed her his long poem
And waited patiently for her to read

Riddled with mistakes
She could barely make out the message
But the theme resounded
I love you and I miss you

Tears in her eyes
She hugged Jeff and said
"This is the best poem you wrote.
Now it does need corrected to understand better."

Thunder wandered toward the cave where he knew Terry slept. His brother must be sleeping but the berry thieves is still a mystery. The berries were ripe now and he wanted to dig into the bottom of the mystery. Who would steal a whole forest of berries and leave none behind? They had to set a trap before more thieves appear, but he couldn't do it alone.

"Brother Terry, wake up! The berries are ripe now and no one is in plain sight. We need to trap the thieves before it's too late," Thunder called out as soon as he entered the cave.

"Oh, brother Thunder, I had a nightmare. I do hope my secret spot is safe and sound. Yes, the thieves won't be frozen for long. We need a permanent solution to stop them. Digging a hole in front of some bushes would do and hope it's their first target too. These berries would spoil and rot in bags and produce a chemical harmful to others, turning others into zombies if they aren't stopped. I just hope that secret about these berries isn't known to them," Terry yawned and got up.

"Digging a hole would be great! I think I may know where to go first. The bushes on the outskirts of the forest that are easily accessible."

"Yes, that sounds like a good place to start off first. Let's hurry because those thieves could strike anytime."

"And pray that innocent people don't fall for our traps too. Signs should do the trick."

Thunder got to work in hunting down the specific bushes they talked about while Terry searched for covering for the hole. They took turns in trading places when either of them grew tired. When evening fell their trap was ready and they laid anti digging spells so that the thieves couldn't dig their way out. The signs were put out to warn anyone not to go to the bushes. Soon they heard rustling and Terry saw the exact same thieves that he had faced earlier when the berries were stolen. This time they had anti freeze protection on them. They drew ever closer to the bushes that the dragons had set a trap for.

The thieves laughed at the signs and continued forward. Then they were standing in the middle of the trap. Quickly Terry and Thunder pressed the button. The ground gave away beneath the thieves' feet and soon were in the bottom of the hole. Terry and Thunder rushed in, laughing and celebrating. They had success in capturing the thieves, the next step was to turn them into the police.

Terry and Thunder hid among the trees just in time for the cops to come. The thieves had apparently called the cops themselves. A firetruck came too. The firefighters helped the thieves out and the cops placed the thieves under arrest. Their stories just didn't mesh up at all. Evidence against them was great. Once more Terry and Thunder secretly celebrated their victory and when all was clear they covered the hole up so it was safe for anyone to come take from the berries.

Thunder paced back and forth. He was sibling of the dragon that lived in the cave and ate berries in the forest. What bugged him was the lack of ripe berries found. Everywhere he searched, all he found were unripe berries. That would do his brother no good. Then he saw a lady and a child searching for berries among the bushes and sighed. This was no ordinary situation. That lady and child looked starving.

"Greetings. May I help you find some ripe berries? It looks like some thieves have stripped this portion of the forest of the berries away," Thunder greeted them in his most gentle voice.

"Sure. We have been searching everywhere for ripe berries but can find none. I wonder what has happened to them all," the lady replied. "We are starving and need food to eat. It looks like we will have to wait a few days before there are ripe berries."

"There is one place I haven't checked yet but it is my brother's favorite hiding spot for the berries to grow. It may be the only place the thieves haven't gotten to yet. My name is Thunder by the way," Thunder introduced himself.

"I am Lilac. This is Daisy, my daughter. There had always been berries year round in this forest all of my life and we've never run out of food before," Lilac complained.

"This is unusual indeed. I feed off of deer and moose. Don't worry. My brother feeds off of these berries but never hogs the berries to himself. I see new seedlings where he planted new seeds. He recovered the stolen berries but they must have been a mess to be eatable. These berries don't do well in bags. Come follow me. It isn't far," Thunder said.

"Berries," Daisy spoke up and cried a little."

Thunder led the group to a spot close to a waterfall. Then he allowed them onto his back and carried them in the air up to the top of the cliff and then into a deep valley and landed. There they settled and saw berries ripe and ready for the taking. This part of the forest hadn't been touched by thieves at all yet. He was proud for his brother's smart thinking. He let the lady and her daughter gather as many berries as they could muster before deciding it was time to head on back. Then he sighed. For a few days he would have to watch out for those wanting berries to carry them on his back to his brother's secret hiding place and back before ripe berries were available in the forest once again. The thieves had done a lot of damage but hope was growing fast under his brother's care. He wished Lilac and Daisy a safe journey back as they separated and he became alone once more to watch over the berries of the forest.

Once upon a time a dragon lived in a cave high in the mountains. Its name was Terry and it lived off of the forest berries. One day it went to its favorite spot to pick up some berries to eat only to find they had vanished. Anger and fury bubbled up from inside and it unleashed a fiery breath. Who dare invade its territory?

With a swish of its wings Terry flew high in the air to get a glimpse of the intruder. He flew around and around in a circle until finally he saw marks of someone or something trying to get away with a bag. This bag must hold the berries he's been searching for! He swooped down and found a way down through the tree branches to the place the intruder was headed. The masked face said it all in his opinion as he landed in front of them.

"Hand over the berries now! They aren't just for you to steal from me. You didn't ask. I eat those berries year round," Terry demanded.

"They are anyone's game and I didn't drop dead eating them. Nothing in this forest is claimed. It is first come first served. I found these berries fair and square. The redder they are, the ripper they are and the sweeter they are to eat," the man mocked Terry and heaved the bag over their shoulder.

"That's not right. What you are doing is wrong. The berries belong to the forest and I eat and throw the pits nearby so that more berries can grow and that's exactly what happens. This forest is filled with berry bushes because of me. Now give them back to me and I will spare your life. I hadn't eaten a human in a century or so. In fact, never had."

"If you think you are the guardian of this forest you are so sorely mistaken. We the gang need these berries to feed our bellies and food is running out. More and more security guards are on the loose."

"If that is your attitude then you will get it."

Terry huffed and puffed, then breathed out an ice breath, freezing the man in place and causing the man to drop the bag of berries. Then he took the berries, ate them and planted the pits. All for a days job he thought to himself. Then he went back to the cave and fell asleep and dreamed that a woman and her child were looking for ripe berries and finding none.

On a faraway continent

Most famous painting yet
