2023's achievement list

A year in local politics
still learning the rules of the Omgevingswet
environmental law in English, that is effective today
doing my own "subjects", on which I speak in our council,
working hard to get things read, understood and done.

Amendments written, it takes almost a year
to get them effective, served at its proper time
and hopefully people will find
that the nightly races are a thing of the past.

Challenges ahead of us
a province dictating, over our heads
pushing windmills in dangerous areas
is there something we can do?

Yes, I got things checked off my list
but more things to do instead
So the coming year will be a challenge
we'll take it step by step.

I don't have to do it all alone,
we're in a team, serving the community
doing the best, but is it enough?
