Janet goes on an early morning stroll, and finds an injured wolf pup.
Janet got up at the crack of dawn and dressed warmly. She fed her pet bunny, Nibbles, and set out for the woods. She heard birds twittering,
squirrels chirping, foxes snoring, and many of the other nature sounds. Janet stopped by a tree and climbed up high. She saw a bird’s nest on a branch, and she stopped to watch as an egg cracked. A moment later a small bird wriggled out. Soon after, the other four eggs hatched. Janet smiled softly to herself.

Genesis 1: 22

And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters and the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

Janet climbed down and continued her early morning stroll. She came across a baby wolf, lying still. Janet spied a large gash through the wolf’s front left leg. She gasped and bent down. The gash was mostly sealed from the dried blood, but fresh blood still seeped out through the wound. Janet carefully picked the small animal up. It was so skinny Janet figured it hadn’t eaten for days. She put her ear to its chest, and heard a dim heartbeat. The wolf was barely breathing. Janet quickly hurried back through the woods.

When Janet reached her home, she ran through the door and went to grab a towel. She wrapped the wolf up snugly in the towel and laid it in a shoebox. She ran to get medical supplies, and returned a short time later. She cleaned the wound and dressed it. Janet wrapped the wound in a bandage and prayed that it would heal. A few minutes later, Janet had set up food and water for the wolf pup, which was now blinking open tired eyes. It tentatively sniffed the air, and then hobbled out of the shoebox toward the food. It ate a small mouthful, then another. Janet smiled as she watched the wolf pup. This, Janet believed, was what God had intended when He placed humans in charge of animals. Not to hurt them, or destroy them, but to help them. Janet loved helping animals.

Genesis 1: 26

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
